| Coughing after drinking water I know I've read another post about this but I can't find it. After Betty Boop drinks water, she coughs a few times. It's like she has something caught in her throat or the water went down the wrong way. She doesn't do this when she eats her kibble. Could she just be drinking too fast? Her bowls have always been raised. Maybe I need to raise them higher? Any help is appreciated.

| Teddy did this for awhile and then quit. I think it may have something to do with drinking too fast. If I recall correctly, a number of people here indicated that their dogs cough after drinking water.

| Sometimes Max likes to drink fresh water out if the bathtub (he jumps in and paws at it). He coughs when he drinks there because the water is level to his mouth and I think it goes up his nose or because it's elevated. Why not put Betty Boop's bowl on the floor instead of raising it?

| Maybe it is about finding the right height. Now that I think about it, Teddy stopped coughing when I replaced the shallow kitty stainless steel bowls with deeper glass custard bowls.
