I agree with Denzilla...I'm guessing she knew the dog belonged to you. She must not be an animal lover, because how could you not notice the collar and return her to her mommy. I am just so happy that you got her back! I bet she was scared of that evil woman! |
So glad you were able to get Callie back and it appears that your neighbor has horns hidden underneath her hair. I do not blame you for being furious at your neighbor. I am right there with you. |
Ha, I would told my "neighbor" to eff off, that there was no way she didn't see the tag and phone number or here my yelling for my dog outside her house. I'd give her $100 to get off my property before I slapped her a new one. That's just me though. You're neighbor knew exactly what she was doing... holding the dog until the reward posters came out. Glad it was her and not some jerk that would sell her or keep her though and now your lil girl is safe with mom! |
I'm sorry but the first thing I look at if there's a dog I do not know is obviously their tag. I feel like that is what anyone would look at. This lady is weird. I mean I don't want to judge but I'm sorry, actions speak louder than words. If my neighbor's dog was lost, especially a cute baby like Callie, I wouldn't even bother taking the money. I definitely could use it but having that baby in my presence and being able to get her back to her family would be more than enough for me. pshh some people. |
I am so glad Callie is back with you. I think this neighbor is creepy. Just like when they hit the mailbox and then tried to hide the evidence she knew the dog was yours and should have just returned it. They obviously can not be trusted to do the right and honorable thing. I would just mention they story to other neighbors and let it drop that she had the dog in her yard the whole time everyone was searching and that she claimed the ransom. |
It's wonderful that you have her back home with you. She's a pathetic example for a neighbor. That's pathetic. I'm so sorry she did that to you, but you're right. It's worth it to have your lil girl home with you. |
My twin boys (almost 10; neutered; missing teeth) - were stolen from my home during a home burglary.....I feel your pain. I highly dislike your 'neighbor'.....will you please visit Find Baxter & Cooper | Facebook and 'like' to help me spread the word....so glad you got your baby back. |

www.petamberalert.com If you get the full alert package they will notify all persons who subscribe to pet amber alert (also on FB), many vet's worldwide use this and have missing fliers displayed in their offices as well many pet stores and other retailers display these missing posters in their stores and on their web site via links. Really great way to get the word out. Include their microchip information if they were microchipped. |

Our world has gone to hell in a handbasket and it sickens me. If I were your neighbor and your dog had a tag on it I would never have taken a reward. Did she even act embarrassed? Like others have said, KARMA. |
So happy Callie is home.......I'm still praying that my babies will be returned....My reward has increased (with the help of crime stoppers) up to $10,000. www.facebook.com/findbaxterandcooper.......shame, shame, shame on your neighbor.......I think I'll refer to 'her' as the person who lives near you. A 'neighbor' would NOT act as she did.........I am so sick of evil people!!! Will you please give your baby a kiss from me..... |
So happy Callie is back with you. I believe she did see the tag on Callie. But keep an eye on that "neighbor" |
I cannot believe a so-called "neighbor" would take ANY money from you - or anyone to bring their dog back. Seems like that is something a person owes another person - to return anything to them that they may have found and held onto, with hopes of returning it to the owner as a simple gesture of human kindness. How can one take money for the simple act of "do unto others as you would have them do unto you"? Your neighbor's idea of the Golden Rule is highly attached to the gold part, it seems. And yes, it sounds purposeful to this observer. |
I'm glad you got Callie back, but I agree I think it's ransom. If Callie's tag had fallen off I could understand but I am sure she knew the address since she lives that close to you. Do you think maybe she planned on keeping Callie or selling her but got nervous? I saw on the news a few months ago there has been an increase in theft of purebreeds especially small sizes during this economy. She probably intended to sell Callie or hold her for the reward money. It's sad. People don't realize that pets are actually family members but then again maybe they do. So thats why the steal them. Don't worry that lady will lose $500 and more in some fashion. |
