Random Yorkie Behavior Everytime my Yorkie has a treat, a bone, or sometimes even kibble in front of him he does an interesting, funny thing. He will rub his nose along the ground for about 2 inches in front of the treat, look up, nose to ground again, two inch rub, look up, repeat, repeat, repeat! It's almost as if he's pushing an invisible patch of dirt out of the way to bury his treat. I've always wondered if other Yorkie owners have ever seen this behavior out of their babies and if so why do they do it??

| Yeah, mine both "bury" their treats sometimes, usually in a blanket on the sofa. It's cute!

OMG, my yorkie does the same thing but with her kibble only. I thought she had some weird obsessive compulsive behavior! Glad to know others do this as well. The trainer couldn’t even explain this behavior.

Our dogs do that, too. It seems more 'satisfying' to them when I give them their treat on top of a tea towel. Then they have something to actually bury the treat in. Then they uncover it and eat it. Silly, but cute!

That sounds so cute. My husband's jack russell buries his bones. I will be cleaning and find them everywhere.

Watched my little girl try to do this yesterday with her lunch. She is such a picky eater. I am choosing to believe she was trying to save it for later and not just get rid of it.

Kiko does that too, especially with "special" treats that she doesn't get everyday.

"hiding his food" My dog does the whole get a kibble then run away to eat it too. He also does this silly thing where he will push any type of cloth or whatever he can find near by over his food bowl. its like he is putting a lid on it to save it for later! i think its awesome and funny. I will post up a video next time i feed him. I now leave a shirt or something next to his bowl. he likes it that way
