| Bathing before vet appointment I was wondering if any one else gives there yorkie a bath before they go to the vet? I always bath Callie the night before she has a vet appointment. Now that doesnt count for emergencies obviously she just goes as is if there is an emergency.

| hahaha, funny you should ask. I just gave mine a bath as Hot Rod has an appt tomorrow. I normally bathe them every 2 weeks but if their frontline application is close I wait a couple of days after that. My 2 were a week overdue this time. They were just a tad stinky.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Sure, Roxy gets a bath before Dr. I take a shower before I see my Dr, so it pretty much makes sense to me to give her a bath too. If she had something going on with her skin, I might reconsider, but otherwise she gets a bath. Emergencies would be the exception.

| Yes, for all non-emergencies, the boys have a bath before going to the vet. When Max had his eye problems, he did not have his head washed for over 6 weeks. I combed his head thoroughly and used damp sterile gauze to clean his beard as much as possible. Yorkie parents aren't the only ones who do this. At our vet, we ran into a woman who had a gorgeous cocker spaniel in full coat. She combed the dog's skirt before entering the office and then gave me the side-eye for Max's coat being a little tussled from holding him in my arms.
