YT Addict | Wow...My Gizmo has bronchitis! Hi yorkie family, yesterday I noticed that my Gizmo had like a gurggling sound when he growled, it sounded like he was losing his voice or getting horse. His bark was still strong, but if he growled it sounded funny. SO i kind of watched him all day and he did everything normally, played. ate, stole my house slippers and took off running, and had his daily fight with my husbands foot with the sock on it. So last night when we get in bed, we usually play with his toy slipper and again when he growled it sounded funny. So I kept an eye on his breathing all night and although he has always snored slightly he sounded a little wheezy to me. So without having a dime in my pocket I took him to his vet, who examined him and told me he has bronchitis. Since Gizzy is not really good at taking pills his doctor recommended we give him a series of long acting shots for the next couple of days. So he got an antibiotic with steriod shpt and has to have another one on saturday and then monday. I have the best vet in the world because he knew I did not have to money today and told me not to worry about it right now, that he knew I would bring it in when I got it. So we get back home and Gizzy still has the low pitch growl lets just hope he gets over this soon. He is acting normal, right now as I type he is sitting at my husbands feet having his daily fight with the sock. Has anyone else had this happen or any experience with bronchitis? Is there anything else I can do for him that you know of? Thanks for listening guys! Cynthia

| Sylvester had Bronchitis last year. Apart from having Antibiotic Injections every 2 to 3 days, our Vet said to not to give him anything cold to eat or drink. ( Warm water and food) Also to switch the Air Conditioner off in the house and car. |

| Poor Gizmo! I suffered from bronchitis for what seemed forever last year. It NEVER seemed to go away, lol. So I know how terrible it is. Hope he feels better.

| I don't know anything about dog Bronchitis but experienced a horse who had that and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease COPD. If dogs do happen to be the same as horses, I know that if you work a horse (exercise) too much and they have a cold or bronchitis they can then develop more serious damage in the airway, so make sure that you let your baby take it easy until they are better. Wishing for a speedy recovery.
