We had a similar go round with my big dog years ago. I think she picked up something from another dogs water dish .( I threw out all her dishes and bought stainless ones that I sterilize often). We got the probiotics powder and I think that helped a lot, after all the antibiotics had killed off all the bad stuff, never got a definite on what it was.Hope he is better soon!

Yes he was on a supplement powder for 14 days to rebuild the good bacteria. I too have stainless steel, and actually I bought three more yesterday so that I can wash them in the dishwasher every night and he always has a clean one.

He just drank a bunch of water and is now chomping on a pillow in my lap... he looks a little brighter... fingers crossed.

just went through something similar with Tucker last week. Spent the prior weekend at the vets both saturday and sunday. The vet wasnt sure what it was at first but after xrays and blood work alot of stuff was ruled out. She did feel that he has a mild case of pancreatitis but the blood work didnt directly reflect it, but she said that it doesnt always. He was put on a bland diet for about 5 days then he was put on low fat diet for awhile. It takes these little ones awhile to recoup and get back to normal.

He's keeping food down today! I'm very happy. hopefully he keeps more down, I'm going to slowly increase the rice and chicken amounts so that he's at least eating a good amount of food, before reintroducing kibble.

Thanks you guys! he's had five meals of rice and chicken and a decent poo so I'm happy, it appears that we made it through this incident. I'm going to wait another day on the bland diet before trying to introduce the kibble again. I'm glad I have all of you to talk to.
