My first cat was a rescue. My second cat is a long term permant foster cause his family could not handle him.... my current dog is a buy from a breeder but it took me 7 years and 15 tries to get a dog in this house cause of number one dogs issues..... It took a breeder to look hard and to see the skill set and not let red tape get in the way.... I tried yorkie rescue. I tried a lot of rescues... You have an aggressvie dog... yeah i do it genetic... I did not make her so. If we again fix every dog. stop ever breeder from breeding where are our dogs coming from where will rescue get their dogs.... 100 percent is extinct. JL |

My response to that would be why encourage more irresponsible breeding of any type dog when their are millions being euthanized on a regular basis. Not to mention, the "slack" you refer to is caused to a great extent by far too many people thinking it's cute to breed their dog or they want to make a few bucks or they want to have another dog just like the one they already have or they want to teach their kids about the facts of life...or...or... If someone were serious about breeding and doing it right, they wouldn't wait until a few months before the next heat and then start looking for info on the internet. They would spend years studying the process ahead of time, work with a good, in person mentor, champion their own dog and have them properly certified BEFORE they started planning a whelp. As for rescue dogs being mutts or unpredictable, then you haven't put in the time to researching reputable breed rescues. There are many who specialize in specific pure breeds. Breeding right is not something that should be undertaken lightly. Breeding just because you WANT to is not a good enough reason to do it. |

I offered up the book I am going to read and I have my mentor in place. I said if I breed not when. I well aware of my learned skills and my limits. I did not say I was an expert I said I was well rounded. Again play nice stop baiting a fight. We are all here to learn the best we can and I was posting to this thread not the other so my knowledge is this thread. JL |
