How does your baby tell you what he/she wants...... They are too smart sometimes.... If they want something, they figure out a way to let you know. I crack up at Charlie. A cute thing Charlie will do is, if he runs out of water and gets thirsty before I notice, he will go into the bathroom, stand by the bathtub and bark. Then when I get in there I always realize right away, "oh shoot, he must be out of water." I love it that even though we can't speak the same language, we find ways to get our point across. What are some of the things your babies do to let you know what they want. Just curious to hear. :) |
If Princess potties appropriately;), she'll kick her feet up over & over until I give her a treat. If she runs out of water she'll do a low growl & dig at her bowl trying to tip it over. She'll stop & stare at me, sometimes I ignore her because it's so cute:p then she'll repeat it all until I get her some. If I'm leaving or she thinks we should leave she'll fling her harness to me until I get the hint. Quite the bossy little lady. |
So cute! Uni tells me things in the same way. She will come and stand next to me and stare at me. If I ignore her she will do the sneeze to get my attention. If I still ignore her, then she will do her loud bark. When I acknowledge her, I ask her what she wants and she will lead me to what she wants. If she needs to pee, she leads me to the door. If she wants to play, she leads me to her ball. If she wants to eat, she'll lead me to her bowl, even though it's not feeding time yet! LOL |

All of these are cute! Yorkies are good communicators. Max performs multiple sits for most things, like curtseys. If he wants food, he runs around with his Kong, drops it at my feet and does a dramatic sit. If I'm not paying attention, he will make a funny noise in his throat and sit. Teddy spins to say "yes." If he wants to get my attention, he stands and taps my leg with his paw. I usually know what he wants depending on the look on his face and his body language. |

she also paces back and forth to the door and stares at me during her pacing to let me know she's gotta go and NOW! she's supposed to use the bell but when i ignore her thinking she's faking it she gets to pacing to let me know she's for real. Bentley whines for food. he wakes up and whines in our faces until we get up and feed him. he also whines at night around an hour before dinner time and wants fed early then as well. he's so food demanding. |

LOL... I knew I was going to love to hear the stories. :) Princess10, yes I believe the low growl is in the "I need water now!!" bark. :D |

If I'm getting ready to leave whether she's coming or not (I tell her at the last second) I'll turn around & she'll be sitting pretty! How do you say no to that!?:rolleyes: I finally taught her if I say "mama be back, you wait" she'll "listen" & step back. If I don't she'll bark & whine as I walk down the steps. |

These are all so fun to read! |
If Scooter wants to go for a walk he will go to where the leashes are hanging, find his and keep pulling at it till I come see what he is doing. When Sadie is ready for bed she sits up in the recliner, thats where she lays most of the time , and she will start to growl at me until I get off the computer and take her to bed. I love my babies |

Kaji let's me know what he wants with a look and a whine. The whining is for when he's desperate. My brothers call me the yorkie translater. They don't know what he wants, but I do just by looking at him. I will admit I'm puzzled sometimes, so I go down the list, "do you have to go pee pee? Poopies? Are you hungry? Are you thirsty? Do you want to go outside?" he'll sit and do the yorkie head cock until I ask the right question. When I ask the right one, he gets up and whines. is his piddle pad is soiled, he seeks out a human, and leads them to it for a new one. |

It is so funny, because I swear he knows when I am going to leave, even when I haven't done anything that should make him think that. Like before I grab my keys and I'm just walking around like any other time, I swear he has sonar or something because he knows that I'm leaving. He will wake up out of a nap and start following me and looking at me like, "You're not leaving me are you?" lol. I always wonder how he knows. |
i figured out very recently that both my dogs know from the sound of the garage doors which person is home. they know my garage door sounds a little different than daddys and they flip out if i'm leaving and i have to open his door and shut it to leave because they think he's coming home...it's so cool |
If the water or food bowl runs out, Chip throws a fit. First he paws at it a couple times then will look at me. Then he'll paw at it a little harder and whine. Then he'll start pawing a little harder and a little harder and whining louder each time. This will continue until he has a blown out FIT. He's been known to chuck bowls across the floor or push them around on the floor growling until he gets food or water. The other day he was thirsty and ran out of water so I grabbed a water bottle to put in the bowl and was teasing him some... I said "What do you want? You want water?" and he'd respond by barking. I then said "Okay, where does it go?" and he turned around and nudged his bowl with his face. We went through that a couple times. Smokey will just jump in the bath tub and start licking the faucet that makes all kinds of racket. |

To they let us know they need water, they will push the bowl around the floor. Do you know what a metal bowl sliding across a tile floor sounds like? Believe me you'd get up and fill it fast. When they need to go out Bubba will bark, Sissy will either stare at you and run to the door or scratch at the door. Sissy is really my big baby, she is attached at my hip but come meal time she will go to my husband and stare in his face (he feeds them). We have been trained well to serve them and do it with a smile. |

Anytme My toots wants anything.... to show me she's eating to show me she is needing to potty or wants to get more of her favorite food she will stand by whatever she is trying to explain.... tilt her head to ceiling and howl.... depending on how bad she wants whatever is how long and hard she howls:eek: My goodness you ever hear a 5 pd needy furbutt howl trust me... Most time she gets or way. Lol Or sometimes I will tease her and ask what all whiney and she gets louder and louder.... Yep and she has us trained well. Now remind me why I got a 3 rd yorkie yesterday? :D:confused::idontknow |
This is such a cute thread! So Fun! Taycie usually will let me know she is ready to get up in the morning by trying to find my face.. She will paw at my face and growl if I am hiding it.. If I still ignore her she ends standing on my back and on my head and growls. Then I turn over and say... Taycie... and I get lots and lots of very sweet puppy kisses:) It's my favorite. About 6:30 every night she starts pacing.. bringing me balls.. climbing on me... staring at me.. then barking eventually follows. Until, I say," PARK" and she goes crazy! To go out to potty she scratches at the door..or whines.. the cute puppy whine.. That always gets me to do anything:) |

hehehehehe.. fun thread! Ziggy will do one of three things (depending on which personality he is being at the time, lol).. He will either look at me then look at what he wants, or he will paw at my legs and look up at me al cute.. or he will bark and bark and go around in circles like "Mommy look at me, i want something!" its too cute |
She whines - very effective, I might add. She comes up to me and stretches - so cute, and she knows it! She paws at Ringo's face until he gets mad at her - but at least she got him up from a comfortable position and made him chase her! Nothing more fun than an exciting game of chase. |
I love when they stand up against your leg when your sitting down and kind of "kneed" and look at you like, "mom, i'm the sweetest thing ever, give me attention please." lol |
LOL! These are cracking me up! You all have such sweeties! |
Gracie is a picky eater so I don't keep food down for her. I usually feed her around supper time but if she gets hungry before then she will come up and look in my face and bark. If I look at her and ask her what is wrong she will bark more. Of course she gets what she wants. When she wants to play fetch she drops her ball beside me and then gives me a minute to figure out what she wants. If I don't respond as quickly as she would like I get another ear full. She has her way of talking without words. It's really funny when she barks with her ball in her mouth. |
