| Could an experienced yorkie owner please help me? I took Toby outside today (16 weeks) and the sunlight goes through his puppy fur and makes it kinda look really dark brown in the sun... His hair is black, but when the sun directly hits it I catch a reflection of dark brown/very dark auburn. Is this normal? Again, it is not at all that color but the sun makes it appear this way. |

| Zhoie is my first yorkie, not that experienced as she is only 2.5 yrs. She is black & tan, she coat use to catch the sun and have a reddish/brown cast to it. However, for about the last year it has been totally black...no more cast even in the sun.

| Thank you very much... He still has his puppy coat, but his nose was a little lighter than normal and now it is jet black and then I saw his coat in the sun today and panicked - I started wondering if he was going to be chocolate, but the chocolate yorkies I have seen are obviously chocolate even as puppies so I was confused! |

| I know exactly what you mean. I even took Zhoie to the vet because I was so concerned. He told me it would level out, no uncommon...and it did.

| At 16 weeks you can expect color changes. I had one go from dark to silver. A breeder cannot predict color. |
