| Anyone correct me if I'm wrong here but... Good breeders I know of only "pet out" their "breeding stock" to pre-screened homes, they send them out already altered UTD on vac.s (those whom believe in them) and still require a contract as to protect and ensure their dogs being in homes they approve of. I can understand the urgency perhaps in a health emergency and asking a high price in hopes to ensure the quality of home, glad she gets them altered prior to adoption but as I said I don't like her attitude-as in the words she chooses show a lot.

I remeber running into someone like that before I got Kaji. I was looking for a rescue or rehome to adopt, and ran into an add for a morkie puppy. I forget what reasoning hey gave for rehoming a 6 month old, but I do remember they asked me for $800 for him in their reply.

| It looks like she just wanted to quickly sell them, and that is why she had her story. She will probably remain in buisness breeding other dogs . That certainly was not a decent "rehoming" fee at all.

Yorkie Yakker | I saw an ad for a rehoming. They said they were moving and could not take the puppy with them. The puppy was two months old. How can you possibley get a puppy that young and have to "rehome" them. People are more educated now than ever before. Many people are looking for a dog, and trying to make sure it does not come from a BYB or puppy mill. So many BYBs and puppy mills are using creative ways to sell their dogs. |

| This just about made me cry... I replied to an ad that a guy was wanting to trade his dogs in for sheep. [He was selling the dogs for 1000 each, or 1 dog for 5 sheep which was NOT stated in the ad, he told me this via email.] I offered to take one if he didn't get a trade or buyer, and he in return told me he was not a charity org. and his dogs where worth 1000 at least. I told him very very politely his "dogs shouldnt be worth money they should be worth a good home and that I was sorry for offering less than $1000 and that I was just looking for someone trying to get rid of their dogs, and offering one a good home since he was willing to trade for sheep maybe he would give one to a good reliable home at a lower price. [I figured if he was wanting to trade them for sheep he must not care too much about where they go] His reply: umm dumb ass sheep are worth 200 dollars a peice right now and i wasnt just going to trade for one ....we have 600 sheep and as far as the good home if it comes to the point where i have to give them away i will take them to the vet and have them uthenised I seriously cried, how could someone care so little about the life of an animal who is so loyal to man? Ugh, I think I will put my search on hold. I have put a couple want applications in at the two nearest SPCA's... we'll see what turns up over the next month or so. :/ Those poor poor dogs though I hope someone can buy them for the 1000 the guys wants or give him the sheep and provide a good home!! |
