| I only used a bed with my girls. However, they were older than your new one.

| Ziva has a crate with a nice comfy bed in it for night time and when she wants to be alone time.I am a lightsleeper and find the crate better if I know the dogs are safe and not wandering at night. Then she has a few beds thru-out the house for sitting/ laying on when she is near me on the computer, watching tv, reading. She didn't get these until later as she was allowed free run of the house and had potty trained and calmed down. |

| i got both for Ziggy.. but they are basically never ysed. Ziggy has slept in bed with me since day 1 and I pretty much didnt do the crate training (i couldnt handle him crying, lol) But i do use the crate for traveling and he does go to his bed once in a while if im standing at the time when he wants to nap. If you can afford to get both. If not, then i think a crate, because it doubles as a bed/traveling and for training oh and Cingrats on the new baby

| I used a crate in the bedroom at night and had a doggie bed in the living room for her during the day.

| I do the same thing for kaos. Even though he acts like a little boy not wanting to go to bed at night ...he is crated every night. On the flip side he goes into his crate to rest through out the day on his own. He knows thats his safe place, and I imo at least they need that. |

| Mine have a travel kennel (without the door), a pillow, and a nice soft bed in the bathroom for nighttime and when I am at work. I took the door off because Abby (my little one) likes to stand on top of the crate and I did not want her to get hurt on the door. The bathroom is sectioned off with a baby gate. They also have their potty pads, food and water bowls, and toys. I am leaving the food down all the time until they are about 9 months then I will transition them twice a day - feel better knowing they have food if I have to work late and they get hungry. I will admit I tend to go a little overboard and have 8 beds for them in the living room (one travel kennel without the door, two cloud 9 beds, two crate pillows, one soft bed, one cat cube, and a doggie blanket). Be sure to post pics of your baby and congrats on your new addition. |
