![]() My 2 year old Yorkie is in heat. She has been for about a week. Today I noticed while Toby was napping she climbed in his bed and was trying to mount him. He got scared and ran away. Now she is following around trying to hump him... I think if it were the other way around I wouldn't be worried, but is it normal for a female to be humping. We had a dinner party tonight and she did this again in front of all our guests... ![]()

![]() oh my poor Toby... he will be 16 weeks on Wednesday. He gets so scared when she tries to do anything. She is a 5lb yorkie, he is still well under 2lbs, so I think he feels like he is going to get clobbered

![]() Oh my gosh! Poor Toby. Bailey did that to a dog when she was in heat before she was spayed.

![]() I need to get her spayed. The small town vets are so reluctant to spay small dogs. Toby is 16 weeks and they are saying I need to wait til 3lbs now... I hope he makes it to 3lbs, he is well under 2lbs now! Chloe is 5lbs and should be fine... I just never acted on it because I was terrified something would happen to her!

![]() Maybe you could go to a nearby city with a larger vet with more experienced veterinarians that have spayed/neutered small yorkies or chihuahuas. So they'd be able to successfully and safely "fix" your pets.

![]() That is what I tried with Toby. I called vets in a nearby city and one said 2lbs would be the minimum, but that she felt safer with 3.
