| ![]() Welcome to YT! Wow a 5 week old baby. She must be adorable nevertheless. You can do tons of research here and the people are very friendly, helpful, caring and passionate about their animals. Have fun raising such a little one.

| ![]() ill say this i would perffer some one like the op to get a 5 week old puppy from a byb that seems to know what she is up against instead of the next person down the line to just buy the puppy..because reguardless of not supporting the bad yard breeders (yes bad not back) someone will buy from them and keep the breeder in business |

| ![]() i jope you are reading these replies. i dont think any has or will attack you. speaking for myself, i hear you when you say this breeder insisted. i got Ziggy at 8 weeks. as long as you try to do whats best for this baby from here on. There are breeders on here and people with years of experience, so i really hope you stick around so they will guide you. you seem like you are trying to do whats best, so maybe you should give us all here a chance to show you we're not here to judge, but to help.. hope everything works out for you guys

| ![]() You have a big heart, and I'm sure we would all do the same if we saw a little 5wk yorkie girl (and the guy is ready to rehome them!!!)! I know I would! Best of luck with your baby girl. Just keep her warm, well-fed, and in safe areas in your home (so she won't get underfoot!) Also have you heard about coconut oil? Lot of premie baby puppy milk contains coconut oil because it contains fatty acids same as mothers milk! I would give her a little lick every day (@ 1/8 tsp). Helps build a healthy immune system!! I love and use CocoTherapy. They're USDA organic and the best for pets! Check this out (see the blue box on the left where it talks about coconut oil in puppy milk: CocoTherapy - Amazing Coconut Oil |

| ![]() puppies start going to the bathroom without stimulation at around 3 weeks. I have never seen a 5 week old still need stimulated, if it does there is something wrong. SO this is not something i would worry about. I think the puppy is very lucky to have got in good hands, and with someone that will make sure its taken care of. I have to say i would have done the same thing. If you didnt take it, who knows what kind of person would have. I dont feel you are supporting a back yard breeder. It would have been sold regardless. I would however love love love to see a picture. I love them at that age, they are adorable!!!! |

| ![]() Hi and Welcome to YT. 5 weeks old is really too young to be taken from the mother but in your case I would have done the same. We rescued Oliver, our Shih tzu at 6 weeks ol age. He was left in a carton in the back of our drug store with his three sisters. They were all rescued. He weighed 3 1/2 lbs. We took him to be checked by our vet the next day and she said he was in perfect health. There was alot of things we had to learn about having such a young puppy but the vet was a great help. Now he is 9 months old and weighs almost 20 lbs. Well anyway good luck with your new baby. |
