| Puppy food and Adult food help This is my first post on YT. I have two yorkie girls; Happy (1 yr 8 mon) and Lily (8 mon). Not related. My family and I got Happy from a family friend who no longer could take care of her. And, Lily was from a local breeder. They are both on Innova. Happy's on the Small Bite size Adult and Lily's on the puppy food. I don't think they have any problems with Innova. The only thing I can think of is the puppy food is a bit big for Lily. So, I have to break them for her every meal. But, that's not the problem I'm having at the moment. Happy's a really jealous puppy. I mean really jealous. My family and I have adjusted to her jealousy and dealt with most things. But, she started this new odd behavior. At first, she didn't even touch Lily's food bowl. But, recently, she's been eating Lily's food. She won't eat her food and keeps going to Lily's bowl to eat the puppy food. So, I've started to put 2-3 puppy kibbles to Happy's bowl. Then she'll go over to her bowl and start eating. Sometimes, will eat and sometimes will only pick at the puppy kibbles. Has anyone else had similar experiences? Any advice on how to stop Happy from eating out of Lily's bowl? Thanks! |

| It is a common problem that yorkies want whatever another one has. Happy sounds smart - puppy food is higher in fat usually so it is probably tastier I would suggest separating them while they eat if you want to make sure Happy doesn't get too crazy with the puppy food. Good luck! And, welcome to YT!

| Thank you for your advice. I've been trying the whole separating the two during mealtimes. But, sometimes Happy will not eat at all. And, I don't want to free feed..well, I can't because Lily will eat everything that's in her sight. So, I get super worried when Happy doesn't eat at all. I guess I will just have to be stern and strict. It's so hard to do. eeek, thanks for the advice |
