Am I being a worry-wart? Help?

Just an update: Roxie seems to be doing well at this point. She hasn't vomited or had diarrhea all week, but her potty habits still aren't what I consider "normal". Some days she poos twice, and some days not at all. I'm hoping that works itself out soon.

She finished the Panecur, and she actually seems to really like both the wet and dry Hill's food. I haven't given her treats, chewies, or any fruit/veggies all week.

I will call the doctor on Friday, as she advised, and update her on Roxie's progress. We'll see what happens from there.

For those of you whose babies are on prescription food indefinitely, how much more expensive/difficult is it to keep up with?

So glad to hear that Roxide is doing so much better.
I know for myself that I don't find the RX Food to be any more expensive than what I would buy at Petco, BUT with that said, the Vet Office is the only place I can buy it. So, I have to keep and eye on suppy. I have a habbit of if I have only 6 can's left I go but a case. I just never want to run out.

Honestly, I was buying Instinct in the can and dry before. I don't think the RX is any more expensive than what I was paying before. As a matter of fact, the can is less expensive.

I too can only get at the vet's office. So, I try to make sure I always have it on hand. When I start getting low I go get more. I really don't think you will see it is any more expensive or more difficult.

Hrmmm...so you both went with the canned food?
Roxie has been eating the wet food to get her medicine, but dry food at dinner time. She gobbles both up. I wonder which would be better to continue on if need be...

I mix it together. I put a little of the can and a little of the dry. I do this twice a day. I also always have dry down if they get hungry. My Rosie is picky eater and I use the can to get her interested in the food.

Another Update:

I am losing my mind over here. Vet switched Roxie from Hill's I/D to Z/D this week because the I/D was making her scratch and lick herself more. She said she may have allergies to something in the food in addition to a sensitive stomach.

So, she's been on the Z/D for 5 meals now, and she hasn't pooed in 48 hours! She also keeps coming to her bowl and looking for more food and begging when we eat dinner. What is going on? Is this food not filling her up enough? She's also unusually mopey and not very playful.

I just want her to be satisfied with her food and not be suffering ill effects from it. Why does this have to be so difficult?

How much is she eating a day?
48 hours is ok..

Is she puking or having diarrhea? If the mopey-ness continues, definitely talk to the vet bc this food may not be a good fit for her.

She may be mopey and not playful because she hasn't had a bowel movement in 48 hours. I know if I'm constipated and bloated I get mopey and definitely don't want to play. I do hope you figure it out soon and hope Roxie is feeling better soon too!

I honestly would not worry about her not having a BM for a couple of days. I am sure she will go. I have a pup on Z/D and he has done very well on it. His stools were a mess prior to starting on it. I think it did take a few days for him to have a BM and they are always normal now on this food.

I am sure she will adjust. Maybe you need to give her a tiny bit more?

Roxie finally pooed last night, and she definitely seemed more energetic and playful afterwards. *whew*

She still seems very licky and scratchy. Anyone know how long it takes to (hopefully) see an improvement in that?

I also looked at the bag for the food, and it seems I can be feeding her a little more than what I was giving. Maybe then she won't seem like she's starving all the time.

It may not be the food that is causing her to itch. Has she been tested for environmental allergies?
