She is just being a puppy, she is not evil. However, it is really hard if not impossible to determine the look or temperament of a mixed breed dog. Even if you met her parents, littermates can look and behave totally different. That's why I always suggest if you know exactly what you are looking for, you should get an adult dog. Puppyhood is difficult. If not properly trained, puppy could develop many traits that you may find undesirable and will be hard to train out of in adulthood.

First of all, she was not 6 weeks when I got her so dont attempt to do the math if you dont know her birthdate! Dont come on here and try to FLAME ME. All of my posts are in good humor and I love my dog. THIS IS NOT MY FIRST DOG. I know enough and if I am looking for your narrowminded opinion, I will give it to you.

It's so amazing how everyone took my post with humor and for your information, SHE WAS ADOPTED. You dont know s**t about me or my dog so check yourself REAL QUICK....Dont make my Chicagoan personality come out on this forum. Take your "holier than thou" and kick rocks...

Did you not read my first line in my post? Calm down, geez!

You're right I don't know you, hence I was asking you questions, so I can get to know you and your situation better. Did you actually want some advice or are you just joking around?

Now 4.5 months minus the 3 months you have had her equals 1.5 months or 6 weeks. I don't see where my math is wrong by your information.

What advice did you give me about wanting to cuddle and put bows in her hair huh? YOU TELL ME...You came off preaching about what I should have gotten and that my dog wasnt "adopted" but "purchased" and you dont think I would be offended???

I've had King Charles Cavalier Spaniels (and currently a mom to one) for all of my adult life from puppyhood so I know about raising puppies. However, Zoey is unique because I just thought she would be prissy and girly like others. I could see if I said something like getting rid of her, but I didnt! I just want to put bows in her hair and cuddle! I didnt ask for a lecture, I asked for advice on doing that and making her a "lady".....Good grief!

No matter how much fun we want to have with these little ones- in the end they are dogs- the Yorkie breed is a terrier first and foremost. Neither one of mine would tolerate a bow in the hair. They wear some clothes sometimes, but mostly they want to run and play. I will pick them up and cuddle for a second but then they want to be back down being dogs.

Dogs are not an accessory. If you want to feel rich, buy an expensive name brand purse to carry around.

Dogs have needs and personalities of their own- you can't change that to suit your needs- you need to learn what makes them happy and create a lifestyle for them around that.

For the record, she was adopted. I adopted her when she was nearly 10 weeks old from a family off of CL. I went to visit and I didnt see any evidence of any dogs. They had to put her up for a adoption because they were losing their home and the rehome was very nominal. My zoey has been vet checked and is perfect health. Now if they purchased her before adopting her out to me, maybe so, but I didnt purchase her. I paid less than $100 for her and I am happy. You can call that purchasing but she came with her original papers, microchipped, and her vet record. If I had went to a shelter I would have paid even more for her (adoption fees for dogs in Chicago are vary from $100 and up)....Dont assume!

I know...I know...but cant she be a rascal with a bow in her hair???? LOL

OMG...The "rich" comment was a joke. Some of you are very uptight...

Wow, if you're that nasty to capt noonie I truly feel sorry for that puppy. There is no advice to give. She's a puppy and not all female dogs will grow up to prissy. They are not a purse puppy, they are dogs. They like to play and run and get dirty and pull bows out of their hair and be dogs. People need to realize this before buying. Now, wanna get nasty with me too be my guest. Your reaction to Capt Noonie was terrible.

Wow, so defensive...

What advice would you like us to give you to make your dog into an accessory as opposed to a puppy? You wanted a calm little lap dog so you gravitate towards a terrier? Here's a gold star for that thought process. Before you get your knickers in a twist, how about doing some research on the breed. Here I'll do it for you:
Personality Traits of Yorkshire Terriers - For Dummies
Yorkshire Terriers: What's Good About 'Em? What's Bad About 'Em?

YorkieInfoCenter | Behavior | General Temperament and How a Yorkie's Personality is Shaped

Look at that, a 10 minute searh on google for Yorkie personalities and each basically say the same thing with regards to spunky personalities. The first link posted is "Yorkies for Dummies" so you should be able to read it quite well, just in case there's worries for comprehension.

But wait, here's an idea for you to turn your cute, normal little girl puppy into a lap dog. Why not go to a vet and admit you can't handle a normal puppy personality and see maybe if he can give you a sedative. Granted no reputable vet in their right mind would comply, because let's just face if all you want is a purse accessory.

Save yourself the trouble next time and just get this:
Aurora Plush 6 FancyPal Silver and Cherries Dog Pet Carrier#

Have a good night.

If you would just calm down for a second and actually answer my questions, bc I *don't* know you. I need some background otherwise advice I could offer could be redundant.

You just want a dog to carry around in your purse and "look rich" and put bows in it, then you should have gotten a stuffed animal.

You say she was adopted, no reputable rescue would adopt out a puppy without spaying first, and she is still too young to be spayed. So if you didn't purchase her, the only other possibility is is someone rehomed her or gave her to you.

Also, at 4 1/2 months she does not have enough hair to really put in a bow and have it stay in.

You are so defensive I just don't understand. Not once did I yell or use multiple ??? or !!! which could be construed as being rude, yet here you are doing that to me and even cursing at me. I am not preaching at you, I'm simply asking you a few questions none of which you have answered.

Your math still does not make any sense.
