Curious as to why. Not to be snarky, honestly curious. They work closely with their vet and the dad is only 2.5lbs. Thanks for any info you can share. Quote:

My neighbor has a 3 pound Yorkie girl who likes to jump all over Max's head. She isn't the least bit intimidated, and I'm surprised Max stands there and lets her do it. He is usually the boss man, but he has a lot of patience for the little whippersnappers. ;) |

I am glad that most of our puppies grow up to be around 5lbs. But once in a while we get a tiny. (My sisters and I, have females from related lines.) This Spring we got two tinies from different litters. We think tinies are so much harder to place. We want a home with a stay at home parent. No small children now or in the future. No other pets (well maybe another small Yorkie) Some one who lives local and uses our Vets. We have been blessed though, the two tinies are healthy. Parents of this tiny were both close to 6 lbs. She was placed at 16 weeks and weighed 2 lb and 4 oz . The other tiny's parents were Mom 6 lb.s and a few oz.s the Daddy right at 5 lbs. My sister kept this tiny, she is 5 mo.s and weighs 1lb.s 14 oz. My Abba Boy is from that same litter and he weighs 3 lbs. 2 oz. at 5 mo.s. |
Well my husband is pushing about 200...Oh wait, smallest Yorkie! My bad! Late night.. Don't know if trying to find out the smallest Yorkie is a good thing because it can lead down and long, dirty, and resentful greeder like path... But who knows? I hate the fact that my baby is on the smaller side, I wish he'd put on a little weight. IMO. |
I am so laughing right now. My precious "teacup" that I spent a lot of money on cause I was "stupid" and did not know about yorkietalk when I bought him. He was suppose to weigh 3 lbs. My TEACUP is laying by my side a whopping 19 lbs!!! He is the prettiest TEACUP I have ever had. He is the most precious and sensitive dog I have ever owned. Every day I remind him that he is the biggest and most beautiful teacup I have ever met. Life is just too too funny. I just had to share my moment with you guys. |
My little Maci is about 2lbs, 4oz at about 22 weeks. I believe her breeder said she was charting to be about 3lbs or so, but I truly hope she gets a bit bigger. She is beautiful and darling, but I get a little nervous when she tries to jump on the furniture. Maci has the best personality, though, and I wouldn't trade her for anything! |
You know what I find sad, yesterday I googled yorkie growth spurts or patterns or something like that because Toby hasn't gained much weight between 11&13 weeks. I came across a forum type thing with people asking how big their Yorkies would be fu Grown. I noticEd several people saying they were told Yorkies stopped growing at 12 weeks. One lady said her yorkie was 3.4lbs at 12 weeks and was told he would not get over 3.5 lbs. I was so sad because she believes her baby is going to stay at 3.5 lbs while according to tv |
the growth chart he should be around 7. |
