| Yorkie Peeing in her sleep?? I finally picked up my puppy Macie today! Shes doing wonderful. I was wondering if it was possible for pups to pee pee in their sleep. I fed her and she went on the piddle pad. Then she played and fell asleep in my lap. I moved her and realized she had peed on me. Lol. When I lifted her, she was still half asleep. Is this normal? I've never read of this happening. |

| Yes it's possible. Have her checked for a UTI. That's one of the reasons I know of that it can happen. It happened with my boy once, and yup, he had a UTI. I don't know if it's common in puppies. I've never had a puppy before.

| They test a urine sample. The vet usually collects it.

| Congrats on your new puppy Macie! And my Ahi peed on my DD once but she wasn't asleep. I think it was because my DD wouldn't put her down when she wanted to go pee. lol I hope all is well and she was just too tired or lazy to get up and go pee.

| I just thought of this. When in a new environment, Kaji drools a lot due to nerves or stress. It can look just like a piddle if your not paying attention. If Macie is going to the vet anyway, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a urinalysis done just to he safe. But it could have been drool, and you just didn't notice.

| Congratulations on your new puppy. I had a poodle that would pee in his sleep at night sometimes. I guess he was just too asleep to go pee??? Anyway, nothing worse that rolling over and your foot lays in pee...uughggghhhh

| Ziva pees on me (only me!) when she has had a hard day (to much excitement to get in all her naps)She will curl up next to me, fall fast asleep, then a little while later- warm wet lap!! I make it a habit to make sure she pees before sitting down with her in the evening, and she does much better on a daily low dose of Proin(as per vet), she has been checked numerous times for UTIs. She is two and was spayed at 6 months. She was the runt, but the alpha puppy, and is not above marking her space (we have an older dog that she bosses around) |

| My puppy did that too and after much testing we determined she has overflow incontinence, she is on proin and never does it on the meds.

| I found this very interesting. Ginny Joy peed while asleep. I have never had this happen and I have raised many puppies. I will watch her carefully to see if it was a one time thing. She goes to the Vet this coming Fri. I will have her checked for UTI. Thanks for sharing. |

| Sorry there are other pups out there with this problem, but.. good to know we are not alone. "Overflow" is a good description. My daughter calls Ziva her little peepuddle, her capacity is very small. |
