Thor's Human Donating Member | Need daycare / dog walker recs in Manhattan Hello, all! I will be working in NYC for one or two months starting in August. Thor is coming with me. He goes to daycare a few days a week for socialization, but for the most part, he is either in my apartment or in my office with me. I will not be able to spend the day with him in NYC. I don't want him to be by himself for 9+ hours, 5 days per week. I need to find a small doggie daycare or experienced dog walker for him ASAP. Obviously because of the tight time frame, I would like a really solid recommendation from someone I can trust, preferably with an ASPCA certification or something similar. Can anyone give me recommendations?? Thank you!

Thor's Human Donating Member | Thank you for the info. Do they do pickup/dropoffs? I'm working in west midtown, so that would be a tough trek up and over every day.

| Midtown West is a big area- what are the streets? The NY Dog Spa and Hotel that the previous poster mentioned has a location in Chelsea (25th Street and Broadway) here is the link: | Manhattan NYC NY | dog boarding | doggy daycare | doggie day care | dog grooming | pet services | pets | dogs groomer | boarding kennel | groomers | New York City kennels | pet hotel | dog hotel | as seen on The Apprentice Biscuits and Bath is a big operation- has lots of locations- please beware of them- I wouldn't leave any living creature with them. I used to go to playgroups there, even with me there- the "handlers" tried to be rough with my dogs- I had to physically intercept one of their hands as they were about to lay it on my dog- that was the LAST time I ever stepped foot in one of their locations. I also witnessed the people who walked dogs in my building numerous times drop dogs from chest height- they couldn't be bothered to bend over and place the dog on the ground. This place is on 45th street and 10th or 11th avenue I think Pets at Play Resort & Spa - Dog Daycare, Boarding, Kennel, Training in NYC I never went there but I used to hear good reviews from people in my old building- I lived about 8 or 9 blocks away and they were always picking dogs up in the AM and dropping them off at night- they always appeared to treat the dogs well in public. Obviously there are a ton of other places in the city- but I can't really speak to their quality at all since I never did the daycare thing. Good Luck.

Thor's Human Donating Member | Thank you, guys! I really appreciate it. I want Thor to enjoy being in the Big Apple, not languish in my cr*ppy corporate apartment. I will contact the Chelsea location and the midtown west place. The Chelsea place is reasonably close to me, but pick up/drop off is ideal. Also, this didn't occur to me until now -- I'll need a good vet! If Thor has an emergency, I won't be able to ship him back to SF. Any vet recs?
