In Sunny CA we have had it cooler here for the last week. it has been in the 90's . Still hot , but not unbearable. I keep my 2 inside. We have central air. My yorkie prefers inside and the shih tzu gets out of breath easily. It is going to get back up in the 100's this week though. This summer has been dreadful.Seems like that in all states.

New York is going to be hot this week which means my babies will be inside our ac home and only out to TCB. Even this morning at 5AM it was hot already. I hate heat waves like this even though we have a pool, I hate them. I wish it would stay around 70 to 80 degrees all year round

Here in lower Alabama it is the very definition of MISERY! This time of year makes me crazy because this heat and humidity pretty much keeps me cooped up inside with the A/C running full blast! I live in mortal fear that we get a hurricane and loose power. Back in '04 we had Ivan and was without power for almost 2 weeks. That was before we got yorkies, and it is quite apparent that Neo is very heat sensitive. Connor is pretty hardy, but I don't want to push it and find out how much heat he can take, too! Please pray for everybody on the Gulf and East Coasts that we remain storm free this season!

I have been taking Gracie out very early in the AM so that it is still comfortable out when we go. When we go out in the evening I only walk her in the grass so the pavement won't hurt her feet.
I am so amazed by the number of young children and animals that have died already this year by people leaving them in cars. I don't understand why a person who thinks enough of their dog to let them go for a ride in the car will let them sit in the hot sun and suffer so horribly. Don't they think?

This is insane! It's 91 outside & 91 in the house!!!

My central air has been on for days straight, we're in the L.R. with all of the windows/patio doors double covered & 3 fans & it's crazy!

DD & I can go to a store or something to cool off but Princess can't.

Guess I'm going to bathe her again, it must help as she doesn't even fight it.

My DH and I, when our AC was out, just ended up taking Gizzy to Petsmart....Ahh pet friendly air conditioning!

That's a good idea but I'm worried about taking Princess because frankly she hates it.

Plus with her just really feeling better I'm really paranoid about stressing her, though I know this heat must be stressing her, too.

DD just had an idea to go to my parent's & play in the hose. It'll be fenced in & their one a/c unit will probably be cooler than this!

It's been so hot here I turned the temperature on the hot water heater down to the "Vacation" setting and the water is hot enough to show in just fine!

Here in KY it's been so hot and my Tibbs sits and cries at the door but its just too hot outside! So we have been going to the local lake in the afternoon not only does my dogie love it but so does my 3 year old they play in the sand then hop in the water!

Oops - the word "show" should read "shower". Our water is so warm coming into the house, the hot water heater doesn't even really have to work much.
