| ![]() *I* am not putting a small dog in cargo! This makes me sick, but what's done is done and I was just looking for some advice to give her if she needs it. She was actually referred to this website by a legal assistant who takes her dog into work. The puppy is being shipped American airlines cargo. |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | ![]() Here is a case of more money than sense. 1.3 lbs at 3mths old is not tracking to be 2lbs fully grown. I'd bet a dollar on that. What I will bet the bank on is this pup is going to be stressed after "only" a 40 minute flight, and she better go straight from the airport to a vet's office to get this dog assessed; and oh yes plan on taking off a couple of days from her high price work to actually care for this dog, until it is stable. That is at this point the only valuable suggestion you can offer this purchaser ...take the pup to the vet right away, stay home with him and make sure he is well; arrange for a babysitter until he is old enough to go out in public. Oh and by the way that is 40 minutes in the air; do you know how much earlier they load the pups on the plane, plus how long the pup will be in a cargo hold until off loaded??? I feel so very very sorry for this pup on a number of fronts.

| ![]() Not sure if someone is pulling on legs or what is going on, but here is the link to AA's policy on shipping animals: https://www.aacargo.com/shipping/animals.jhtml#temp Specifically states: Shipping Animals in Temperatures Above 85 Degrees Fahrenheit Warm-blooded animals (including birds) will not be accepted for transport if the actual or forecasted temperature exceeds 85 degrees Fahrenheit at any city on the routing. It is hot as hell here in Texas....and rarely is it forecast lately to be below 85. Now, I suppose it is possible for an early morning flight...but I don't know. I think the lowest temp I have seen is in the high 70s. To me it is a ridiculous situtation and if AA allows it, shameful imo.

| ![]() Dallas 10 day forecast...unbelievable. I guess because the forecast is for a low of 80 they will probably allow this. The other question is this: What kind of breeder would sell a pup to someone sight unseen AND stick a young puppy on a plane like this? Certainly not one I would do business with. 10 Day Weather Forecast for Dallas - weather.com

| ![]() When I take the subway I have to put coco in a carrier but i dont because i dont want coco to feel dizzy so i carry her (luckily no one has said anything but this mean lady and i said why dont u put ur baby in ur bag and that was the end of it :P) So if a yorkie can get dizzy in a carrier on the subway i can't imagine what a tiny puppy would do in a cargo! Like someone mentioend if shes a partner at a spiffy firm why doesn't she hire someone to bring the dog back in the cabin? if its domestic and is 40 mins away, it can't be that expensive... plus she gets paid well so this would just be a small change for her. and lastly, i checked out this dude's page and i think its hilarious he has a back to school sale on the dogs... seriously, these dogs are living breathing beings and he's treating it like an object. major red flags... however that being said, I understand the type of person ur friend is.... they have the money and they want what they want NOW! I really hope she is ready to face the consequences of taking care of this dog... good luck to her and the pup.

| ![]() I would caution OP that her boss may very well see these posts. Here she will get a lot of outrage, because we Know about so called tea cup puppies and unscrupulous breeders. I am sad that so many people are still buying puppies bred in puppy mills. It doesn't do any good (except allow us to vent) to shout at the OP. She tried to give her boss good advice, and now she is expressing concern about the coming puppy. I am glad anevarez came here. We may be able to help if problems come up for this tiny baby. Keep us updated. |

No one is shouting at anyone. Valid points are being made in a valuable discussion about this breeder and his tactics yet again. He has been mentioned many times on YT. Does a lot of good imho to keep letting people know about the red flags with this breeder. No one has a problem with anevarez...as for helping the puppy, I doubt she is going to be in a position to do much. Clearly her friend does not listen to her.

| ![]() I have no idea. At this point she has made it clear that I have crossed the line and have pissed her off. I don't know if she cares, in her mind her puppy is a fashion accessory. I have known Megan since we were in elementary school and she has always had everything handed to her. This will be no different. This guy told her he was the best, he could get her a small yorkie at a decent price. I do not feel sorry for her, I feel sorry for this puppy. She was told she needed to give the puppy pancake syrup as soon as she got to the airport. Does that sound normal? |

| ![]() oh I know.. I just hope that no one here thinks I am as shallow as my friend. She is not a super close friend, we were best friends until high school and then she went off to college and we only saw each other maybe once or twice a year. She is now in San Antonio and I am about 3 hours south of that. However, she did see my Chloe last year and she mentioned how she wanted one of those dogs... exactly her words. A couple of days ago she came over and she saw Chloe again and let me know that she was talking to someone at yorkiepup.com. I was pretty clueless, but she did tell me that she wanted a small dog and that Chloe was way too big when I offered my breeders info. Chloe is 4lbs. I can honestly say my breeder would never have sold a puppy to her. I was pretty hurt, but oh well, Megan has always been shallow and seems to be lacking a filter between her brain and her mouth. Now today she calls and says she has made arrangements and paid for the puppy... and what does she need to do. I have brought several concerns to her attention and she has gotten pretty upset. I think I will leave it at my last comment and hope that she will figure it out if her puppy needs emergency help. Thank you all for your help. And again, PLEASE don't think I am as shallow as my friend. Thank you! |
