The rat comment is an 8th grade mentality. I have had my 8th graders say Rosie looked like a rat. Of course, they were trying to get a "rise" out of me and I didn't let them. However, if an adult said it....ummmm they might want to watch their backs! ;) Lol. I would have a few "unlady like" comments for them. |

From one outspoken Texan to another "I LIKE YOU!!". Im sure that you had your VERY best Southern Lady smile to go with all of that,,,right! I do get tired of people being uncivilized just cause they think they can and if you call them on it they suddenly are all apology. I was raised to have polish and manners by my mother and daddy told me that a lady never starts a fight but she can finish it. Good for you for protecting your sister. |

You can really get smirks and remarks if you put them in a stroller. Buster recently had two surgeries on the same leg (within one month) and the only way to get him out and about was to put him in a stroller. When I would see people smirk I would tell them his story, it made them feel bad every time. I thought about putting a sign on the front of the stroller saying "He looks like his father". |
That is horrible :( Remy is gorgeous! I have never heard anyone say nasty things about Poppy but sometimes when she wears clothes I get funny looks. The other day I was buying Poppy a couple of new t-shirts and the lady who served me in the pet shop was really snooty and I could tell she didn't approve, I didn't say anything but it did annoy me. I treat my dog better then a lot of people treat their kids so she has no right to judge me. I tend just to let things go though, I think anyone who would be nasty about a little dog must be a very sad horrible person who is not worth my time. I also hate it when people think they know eveything and make sure everyone knows it. My BF has bulldogs and we were out walking Poppy and his bulldog girl a few weeks ago, it wasn't hot but the sun was out (I was wearing a jumper so it wasn't hot weather) and this woman walked past us in the park and said loudly to her friend "dogs like THAT shouldn't be allowed out in this weather" .. she said it so we could hear, and before he could stop himself my BF said "dogs like YOU shouldn't be allowed out at all" ... LOL I laughed but mainly because of the shocked look on both hers and my BF's face because he couldn't quite believe he had said it LOL! Most of the time I think people like that should just be ignored though. |

Thank you for the morning spew of my coffee! OMG that is funny. Its amazing to me how people think that they can be rude and then are shocked if you respond. Im old enough now that people can just think that I am a crazy dog lady. Dont care as long as they are civil (which they arent sometimes). I do miss people having manners....Not everyone is uncivilized but the ones that are really muck it up for those that do have manners. |
I think most of us know people like this. Some big dog owners have told me that I don't have a dog. Of course they are just showing their ignorance. I ignore it. My dog may be small but she has a big dog heart and that is all that matters to me. |
These tiny dogs were bred to HUNT,not all prey is large. The things that I love about the yorkie breed is their big dog attitude,no fear (its scary sometimes). Dogs come is alot of sizes and they each have a place. I find beauty and grace in most all of them. Maybe the people walking the big dogs think that makes them big and owners of small dogs small. IGNORANCE I guess, for it is what is in the heart of each of us that matters the most. |
Plelase don't judge the people from Illinois by a few ignorant remarks made by random people. People from Illinois are really nice, kind people. I recently got the comment "when are you going to buy the rest of the dog." Got that remark from a person in Mississippi. People can be rude and insensitive in any state and any city. Too bad it isn't against the law to be stupid. |
Not surprised. We Chicagoans can be a bit rude and crass. Was it mostly men and teenagers making the remarks? I couldnt see any women saying that. Now THAT would be a surprise. |
