| Carseat, seatbelt or a cage? Do you use a carseat for your dogs , a dog cage or a dog seatbelt ? And why do you use it ? What do you guys think is the safest ? I'm just wonderin, everyone here on YT that I see uses some kind of carseat. You can not get carseats for dogs here, only cages and seatbelts. I use a plastic cage for Fido in the car with some things so I can strap the belt in and the cage is completily still, I bought some seatbelt for him but he got trapped in it and could have killed himself, he has seperation anxiety and he gets really stressed in the car if he's not in his cage or in my hands so when I put him in his seatbelt and I sat infront he went crazy and trapped himself somehow and could have strangled himself, so I'm not going to use a seatbelt again.

| I have a soft sided travel crate from Samsonite. It has two loops that the seatbelt goes thru to hold the crate on the seat. The fur-kids seem to like it. They settle down a few minutes after we start driving. If they are out of their crate they seem to get flustered and anxious. |

| I like the car seats better then cages because if you slam on your brakes I would be worried about them slamming into the front or side of the cage. Plus its easier to check on them by glacing at then and it lets them see out the window which can help some dogs with carsickness.

| I used to put my Cairn in a carrier because he hated a leash, I would also use the seat belt to hold it. Never had a problem with him sliding, he filled it up. I have car seat for my 4 Yorkies, this way they aren't too confined and I can see them. I can also hook them in with their harness. This works good.

| Do you buckle him in or anything? If you dont something could happen to him if you have an accident.

| I purchased a Bergen tether and a harness. The Bergen harness didn't fit Mina,so I had to purchase a different car harness. I am still trying to decide if I want to get a lookout carseat for my backseat, but for vacation there just isn't a place to put it. |

| Our babies ride in their plastic airline type crates. We use the seatbelts through the handle to strap them in. They travel great in there and I feel they are very safe. They usually just sleep, even on long road trips. |
