| Growling yorkie...HELP! Carmel started to growl at other dogs when he's leashed...it's usually because he's really excited and wants to go up and say hi. How do you fix that? It's getting worst and worst. One time, he growled at a big dog and it growled back, which was not a friendly one...he doesn't understand that other people and dogs think he's growling because he's aggressive. Also, today, he snapped at another dog that came up to him...and he kept growling when my bf pinned him down. I don't know what to do. This only happens when he's leashed too. Mostly when he can't get to the other dog...? This happened once too when he was in the car looking out, he growled at another dog... Please help!! Does anyone else's yorkie do this too??

YT Addict | Well my Gizmo is almost 5 yrs old and I made the mistake of not having him around other dogs when he was young so he does not like other dogs and tends to growl, bake and even try to bite big dogs, as for little dogs, he tends to shy away from them as if he is scared of them. I wish someone would tell me how I can get my baby to accept and play with other dogs his size. Of course he has no idea he is a dog in the first place!!! Cynthia

| It's really important to socialize a puppy with other dogs. Once they are older and not used to being around other dogs bad behavior is harder to break. I hope you can find the advise of an expert about how to deal with this now. Little dog syndrome is something that needs to be treated. |

| The thing is he is socialized...He's been to dog parks since he was 4 months. He LOVES dog parks...the thing is...he love other dogs a little too much...too much socialization for him...He's OBSESSED with other dogs, hence, he always growls (in excitement when he sees them) when he's leashed. At the dog park, there's never a problem. I have never heard of this so I don't even know how to start training him on this. My bf started to make him sit on walks when another dog is passing by because that's when he would growl and pull towards the other dog. He wasn't like this until last 4-5 months I believe...
