| I just want you to know, I completely understand. I have a bad case of puppy fever, too. I would love nothing more than to add another little boy to the mix. I have a feeling Kaji will protest to that. He actually snapped at a little foster boy my friend had. That was a while ago. Kaji now has 2 little terrier mix friends he plays at the park with. (neutral territory) he's even played with them at their house. Next step for us is having a play date in his territory. I don't know how that is going to go. He doesn't even like strange men in the home he shares with his pack. The ladies are fine, but no men or kids!

| I just keep thinking that so many have more than one Yorkie so I know it has to work. I also believe it would give Rosie company when we are not home. This is the deal, Rosie is not aggressive toward my mom's dog. She is a female Shih Tzu. So, I know it would work given the right timing. I really think the socialization would help. I think I have actually got my husband ok with having another one. I worked it really hard. But he wants another female. Of course, he has every excuse in the world to not get another but I really think he will not care in the long run. Ha ha. We just have to make Rosie believe it is ok.

I even will not tell how much I hate millers and stupid backyard breeders. Anyway, adopt! Save a life. Yes, you might have some issues in the beginning, but if you like your baby, you will be very happy to see how is this poor thing abused before, will love you. I adopted my girl from a mill, and although she was with me for two years only, I HAVE NEVER EVER REGREt about it. Yes, she did have some issues: barking, food aggression, no manners. ALL gone - she was a perfect dog after a while. All they need is love and patient. My girl died because she had a brain illness. Some people tell me: I will not adopt, you see, you adopted and she died. SO what? I can tell at least a few stories, when people pay a LOT OF MONEY BUYING cute puppy, and have SAME problem!!!!!! Because stupid breeders breed dogs with genetic disease and don't care about it. They hardly even know their dogs have bad genetic. And what kills me - people STILL do not see the whole pic. They THINK they buy from a reputable breeder when they buy buy from a con artist millers. There are nothing good if you find your pup through newspaper add, or online - the best friends of puppy mills. People think they know about puppy mills.... yeh.... Just yesterday, someone told me that they ADOPT a yorkie from newspaper. how stupid..... I said: you mean - you bought it? She - well ....yes, but it was cheap..... Adoption, what a joke.... Or someone told me PROUDLY - I RESCUED th pup from a breeder, meaning she bought a pup for 1.5k. Rescued? excuse me? If my another yorkie girl wouldn't be so spoiled and selfish, I would adopt another. I will never ever buy a dog again. Only rescue!!!! Go to petfinder, look how many cute babies need home. I have seen yorkie dumped in gas chamber shelter somewhere in Georgia... I have seen puppies.... I have seen way too many to describe. There are many high kill shelters in California where you can see designer breed puppies !!!!! Not adults!!!! Don't breed or buy while shelter dogs die. The only recommendation I have - check out rescues too. Not of them good, sorry, and the most disgusting thing - some breeders pretend to be a rescue. Good luck -) Last edited by omichka; 07-01-2011 at 06:45 AM.

| I just spoke to a lady that has Yorkies. She will have puppies ready to go about December. I think that would give me time to decide with Rosie what would be best. And give me time to work on the socialization. I put my name on the list just in case! I am hoping it works out. BTW, she is not a breeder. A friend of a friend that has a Yorkie that is having puppies. This is important to me because I have looked at lots of sites and see many red flags. I think it is good timing for us if it is going to work out.

Sorry, but you still do not understand. She IS a breeder IF she is going to have puppies. Maybe she is not a miller, but anyone who breed dogs ARE breeders. They ALL have names. It might be a hobby breeder - often backyard breeder... Even those who have accidental litters ... they are still breeders aka irresponsible pet owners.(In your case looks like it is a planned breeding)

My bad!! Lol. I should have said not a puppy miller. I just can't stand the idea of that. Life in a cage, blah, blah, you know the drill! Her girl is in the house with her. I really wanted to get a rescue and might still. At least I know this is an option. Just keep hearing a puppy is easier on Rosie. But still going to see how the socialization goes.

| i wish you good luck anyway and hope you will rescue, not buy. in USA, every year appx. up to 5 mln dogs are killed every year... because of overpopulaton... Of course, yorkies are way more popular than pitbulls , but there are still many in shelters looking for love. Nothing wrong with them, most of them originally from breeders. many puppies BOUGHT from breeders also may have many issues, health and mental.I personally think breeding this days is morally wrong. IMHO, of course. |

| You might also consider a dog of the opposite sex. My male Westie is always very territorial around other males - but he gets along with females. (As long as they aren't bigger than he is). Some dogs are like that - our trainer said - and do better with opposite sex dogs.
