Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I have used both, but I don't know which is more effective...might be dog dependent? Both my kiddos derms and general vets recommend salmon oil for skin issues. I like Ark Naturals Royal Coat. You could try both and alternate days...but it's probably be more convenient to have one at a time.

| I give both with each meal. If I only could do one, it would be the coconut oil.... too many benefits to list... Salmon oil is a LCFA, Coconut oil is a MCFA, they do different things, and are metabolized differently, even though they are both 'oils'.

| Okay since listening to you guys I need to know where I can get either the coconut oil or the Salmon oil. Teasell's coat has been a bit on the dry side lately and her skin seems to be a bit itchy which may be a result of dry skin....Thanks |

| You can also use Coconut oil on the outside of your dog...lol. Rub a little into your hands, then rub it on her coat. The hair will absorb it in a day or two, and put some directly on any itchy spots, it's very soothing.
