Tucker is pottying in the house now that Maddie is home?????? Tucker has not had an accident in about a month and then Maddie comes home yesterday and he has had 4 in less than 2 days....Is he mad at me or something? I have been taking him out more since Maddie is so much younger and has to go out more often and I just take him to.. I always let him walk outside on his own. I carry him to the door and then set him down and open it and he runs off the porch into the grass and potty's.. Well this morning, I set him down by the door and I was holding Maddie and he ran all the way back to where his food bowl is and peed...Why???? What do I do....Whew..this is hard work....

It could be a dominance issue with Tucker. He's probably not used to Maddie being around now, and wants all of your attention still. It can take a little while for him to get used to having a new sister around. I'm sure your hard work potty training Tucker will not be wasted after he becomes accustomed to Maddie.

Well I was kind of expecting him to pee and mark his territory, but he is pooping also.. He is still pottying outside too but it seems like when we come in he will start trying to sit on Maddie or stand on top of her and when I tell him No, he will stop and then next thing you know I find poop or pee....Also, I can't figure out why he keeps sitting on her?? Any suggestions??? I am going nuts right now cause Tucker never gave me any probem until now and between him and Maddie's crying ALL the time I am beginning to wonder if I made a bad choice by getting another one.....

My goodness......Tucker is still a BABY. He will/cannot pee and mark his territory YET.....he's still very much a baby. And do not expect him to be housebroken completely for nearly a year. You should NOT let these two puppies be together......Maddie is way too immature for an older puppy.....she only needs food, warmth and sleep for the next couple of weeks. And please DO NOT associate "human" emotions to dogs!! Tucker is acting this way because he senses STRESS in his home......his whole world. It's as simple as that. Dogs are pack animals and pretty simple to read. When a member of the pack......expecially the ALPHA of the pack ....(YOU HIS HUMAN) are stressed.....he also gets stressed. D | |

This sounds like normal behavior to me (although irritating, I'm sure). I'd go back to lavishly praising him and giving him high value treats when he potties correctly. There's bound to be an adjustment period for everyone.
