| Bailey Chased a Chipmunk! I was taking Bailey outside and she just ran. I yelled, "Bailey!" because I thought she was going to run to a squirrel across the street or something. But she went to the small tree in front of our house. Turned out there was a chipmunk at the base of the tree. She zigzagged in the yard and was like an inch behind it. I yelled, "Bailey! Don't kill that chipmunk!" She kept chasing it then it ran through the bushes and she lost it. She looked around for it for a minute. All I was thinking was, "I didn't know she was that fast. If squirrels weren't so cowardly and always climbed trees, she probably would've caught one by now." I know, a pretty long thought. |

| Rosie is famous for doing this! Isn't it scary when they go after things? Just imagine is Bailey had caught it!!! What would you have done then! Lol. And yes, they move like lightening when they are on the chase. Rosie has almost given me a heart attack or two with her little adventures! So, Bailey be good and don't chase them chipmunks!!

YT 1000 Club Member | HA, I don't think the Chipmunks are in any danger, Yorkies are not known for their speed. Those and Squirrels seem to revel in the chase, they let the Dogs get SO close, then snap to the left or right, and no doubt laugh among themselves, as the pop up a tree, and listen to the barks from below.

| Better put her on a leash or one day she will be run over by a car while chasing a squirrel across the street.

| I never let Gracie outside with being on leash. She is good about coming when called but would probably not be able to overcome her desire to chase a critter if she saw one. I'm not taking the chance. |

| I don't know of any yorkies that could resist the temptation.

| Luckily, she stayed in the yard. And when she chases animals, she won't cross the street,. Plus she is afraid of moving cars, so... Yeah she is just like her ansestors. My little ratter! |

| I'd be so scared if she ever ran across the street. She'll chase rabbits (she never gets close) down two yards then give up and run back. I think she'd only chase dogs across the street :P |

| Leash time if you ask me. I would hate to see something happen...sounds like a disaster in the making if you ask me.

| I agree. There are just too many variables when you are outside. You never know who or what is going to appear. There is no wall stopping your dog from crossing that street and someday she may see something that makes her forget her boundaries. That is also how Yorkies get lost sometimes. It's nice your baby has it's natural instincts but it is also these instincts that can work against these little creatures at times. |
