So you wanna buy a Biewer.?? ***I'm just posting this to educate others*** People ask me ALL the time can you help me buy a Biewer for breeding? The answer I give is 'no'. I am not being nasty I just encourage people to go out and find what they want themselves. They will find it they just have to look on their own. Develop their own reputation. To be certain you have the True Biewer you must see the pedigree and the colors of the ancestors in writing. If you don't you run the risk of breeding something that is NOT..that's just my opinion. That's why I HATE to see folks buying Biewers from brokers let a lone for breeding. Brokers do not have the breeds interest at heart, only their pocket book. I see people buying from brokers because they a) don't have the patience to wait for something or b) the broker feeds them a line of BS that you can't get a Biewer unless its through them. If you do your homework spend time (a couple years) familiarizing yourself with the breed and then contact breeders if you want to do this breed justice and start breeding them. I know some have already bought Biewers from brokers and they are NOT even close to the standard. The broker said it was, but because they didn't research and look around they ended up with an almost all white dog with a patch aroudn the eye of like a silver color. That is NOT even close to the standard. I am trying to educate those that are thinking about getting into Biewers or looking for a pet. I can't believe the cost of a Biewer if you buy through a broker..it's outrageous!!! I have heard horror stories about sick puppies, buying something that's not a true Biewer. The Broker won't stand behind that puppy, they didn't breed it. Brokers can't tell you about the History of the puppy your considering they also can't compare pedigrees to make sure you are buying something compatible for breeding. What I mean by that is Biewers are still rather new and you have to becareful who you breed to who, you don't just throw a male and female together. You run the risk of breeding too close. Now you also have to be careful buying from breeders some can be just as shady. I guess the long and short of this is don't buy the first thing available. Good luck and take your time searching for that special puppy! Hugs, Wini

That is not just about Biewer's, but runs true about any breed. We have tried and tried to educate the public about buying puppies from pet shops, brokers, byb's and sneaky internet advertisers. But people get too impatient and want it NOW. When they won't wait they usually end up dissappointed or with a sick puppy, or with something that turns out to be completely different than what they pictured.

I saw a thread on here yesterday where someone, a Biewer Breeder who is studying the history of livershunt in yorkies, is planning a trip to Germany soon and hoping to actually meet with Mr. Biewer herself. If I were interested in Biewers I would go on that trip!!! That woud be so neat. Did anyone else see that?

There is so much to learn before you buy any dog, but most especially these Biewer babies. They come a long distance to get here and it is hard to really judge their quality. I have spoken with one woman who was unhappy with the Biewers she bought, but there is ever so much more to the story than has been told. The issue with PSS has clouded a lot of other issues. I cannot guess how many Biewers there are here in the USA, but a lot. PSS is almost common in out standard colors and we are not raising the roof about it. These dogs do not just get sick and die overnight even if the shunt is severe. And last I heard, the sister was still here but I have not heard she has been spayed or bred, either. BTW, Irene is Rini on the forum. My actual name is Rini and I post as Whispersmom but occasionally sign a post with my name or Rini's cuties.. That can cause some confusion, but Irene and I manage to sort things out. As for my litter that is ready to place, they have been vetted and all just the way I do my standard colors. They have been a wonderful litter to watch grow to this age. If anyone wants to see their pics, PM me and I will e-mail them..They are quality and can give you an idea what a nice Biewer/Parti mix looks like. Matter of fact, most cannot tell them apart..They will not be registered..
