| When is a good time? Here is my story: I am going to get a Yorkie ! However, the lady i am getting him or her from (the are due in TWO days ) lives four and a half hours away and I really want to go visit the puppies to be able to pick one out and give her my deposit. But I don't want to drive down there the weekend before because that would be alot of driving in two weeks. So I was wondering when is a good age to visit them and to figure out there personalities (I do not want to go ta early). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

| I picked out my Maddie when she was about 4 1/2 weeks old and it was love at first sight...I held her and my heart just melted! At the time she seemed so mellow and quiet, but a few weeks later, when I got her, she was quite hyper...LOL. I do think that was a good time to pick her out...they are so darling at that age...course...when aren't they darling??? Congrats and best wishes on your new baby! |

| Oh, Maddie is so cute!! I don't think you could pick wrong for one thing....these puppies are so adorable. You will probably want ALL of them! But, I too fell in love with Sophie and really wanted her from the first moment. I wasn't sure that I was going to get her or her sister when I visited as there was someone else who had already scheduled an appointment before I did and would be coming the next day to pick which female he wanted. I told the breeder which one I hoped to get and she e-mailed me the next day to let me know that she was mine! These things have a way of working out just right! I would say anytime from 4 weeks on would be good though! Good luck!

| I saw Lucy at exactly 5 weeks old and she seemed to have alot of personality by then. She was shy at first but then warmed up to us (me, my 5 year old son, and my 3 year old daughter) and was actually checking us out more than us checking her out. She even wagged her tail at us which the breeder laughed and said she must have just learned how to wag her tail because she didn't do it before then, it was cute. I had also brought a toy from home that I rubbed against our black lab to get his scent on and Lucy was quite intrigued by it and it's smell. Then when I brought it back home, our lab was smelling her scent on it. So I think if you go around 5 weeks that is a good time to go. Have fun!

| Congratulations, Staci!! I know how excited you must be ... we thought the day would never come that we could bring our little Toto home!! Our biggest delima was ... we went ahead and paid for "pick of the liter" shortly after they were born, sight unseen, and we just dreaded having to make a choice!! When the big day came, our breeder came out to formally meet us and had a puppy in her arms! I was soooo excited ... and asked her if that was one of our choices ... it was, I made the fatal mistake of asking to hold it!!! That little angel gave me kisses and snuggled up under my chin and she has been there ever since!!! We didn't even look at the rest of the puppies!!! We have never regretted buying a Yorkie [we had never even seen one before, just studied books] ... Toto is our joy!!!!
