| YorkieTalkers with Two Females I am always looking and debating on getting another Yorkie. I know there was another post on adding a female but I really need to hear what you have to say. I have been looking at rescues to find Rosie a fursister. I found one I feel in love with but she was adopted before I applied. Then I found another and was told that she does not get along with females. Many people are saying I need a male. But to be honest, I don't want a male. I really want another female. So, please give me your experiences with dealing with two females. Thanks!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have 3 females and they all get along fine. They have their little family dynamics. Pixie is the head of the family. Her and Roxie are best buddies and snuggle together and play/tussle together all the time. Cali is more independent but will snuggle with them and gets along fine with them. When they were younger, Pixie and Roxie would pick on Cali but nothing serious and they always stopped when told to. Also, Cali would go right back for more. I think so much depends on the personalities of the dogs involved. I would go with a rescue that they say gets along well with others. Good luck and keep us posted.

| I have 3 females now, and they all get along great. I have never had any problems with my females getting along. I have only had two males but at different times.

| I think females together, in general, are more prone to fighting. They are called bitches for a reason, right? Females tend to not forgive, whereas males will fight and be kissing each other 5 minutes later. However, with that said, there are many females that are perfectly fine together. Hell, I grew up with a Golden Retriever and a German Shepherd, both unspayed females (we were stupid at the time) and they never really fought. If you have your heart set on a girl, get one. That's how I am -- people will say "oh, two male terriers will fight" but my heart is set on another boy, I just like boy dogs, so I understand where you are coming from. I think it's just a matter of finding the right match, making sure they get along, etc, rather than the sex.

| I have 2 females and 2 males. Males are neutered, 1 female spayed and the other will be spayed in June. I got Tessie 2 years ago and Sassy came along 5 months ago. Sassy picks on Tessie all the time but in the most part they get along ok. Tessie is suppose to be the alpha dog and was until Sassy came along now she lets Sassy run all over her. Hopefully spaying will calm her down, she is WILD. The boys love her. Good Luck

Donating YT 30K Club Member | All of mine were brought in about a year apart. Cali was first, then Pixie and then Roxie.

| I think most of the time the fighting comes if a female is in heat..the others get jealous

| I have 2 females, Chloe and Melody, with VERY different personalities. There was an adjustment period (about 1 week) when i first brought Mel into our little family, but they adore each other now.. and as long as Mel knows that Chloe gets the first cuddle from mommy every morning, everything is perfect!!! good luck in your search! Just wanted to add, my babies are twins from the same litter.... but i got Chloe 3 months before i got Melody, I adopted her after her master decided he couldn't take care of her anymore... so my babies are exactly the same age AND spayed.

| I have 2 girls and they don't fight. It is like you living with another woman. One has to be the big sister, aka the boss. If both agree on who that is, no fighting. |

| They were all brought in at different times. Now my Lizzie who is 14 1/2 yrs.old has been around for all of them. With the exception of my 1st who was a male. I got Lizzie after Spencer passed away. I adopted Audrey who was with a rescue group she 8 yrs old at the time I adopted her and Lizzie was 21/2 then. She accepted her just fine. Then we adopted Jazz who was 12 yrs old from a rescue group and then she passed away 3 months later, Then we adopted Annie from a frescue group who was 2 yrs old. Again acceptance all the way around. Then I fianlly got my dream girl after waiting 2 yrs for her, that was Shayleigh. She was 12 1/2 weeks old at the time we brought her home. Now at first Lizzie, Audrey and Annie were a bit stand offish about this puppy. LOL But by the time Shayleigh was 6 months old and she had calmed down all was just fine. I lost Shayleigh when she only 2 1/2 yrs old due to tragic accident caused by my MIL. Then our Molly joined us, she was about 3 yrs old, she was stray found on the Military Base in Korea and they were going to put her sleep and hubby said no way, and brought her back to the states. My Audrey the passed away and, then we adpoted our 2nd male TeeTee from a rescue group, he was 10 yrs old and just tiny itty bitty thing. We had him for 2 yrs then he passed away. So it was just the girl's. Whe my Molly passed this past October I was just so sad, so I adopted my Willow from a rescue group, she is 6 yrs. old. The my Annie passed on New Year's eve and I adopted Allie in March, she will be 3 in August. So I can all in all I have been very lucky that all of mine have got along so good. Never once have I ever had a fight between any of my Yorkies. Ok sorry I wrote a book.
