Ha ha! But she has hair on them now! We lived through it but I was as upset as you are. But your boy will grow out and all will be well.

| I got my first dog in the early 70's, a mini poodle. I went through so many groomers and mishaps, cuts, burns, scratched eyes, horrible hair cuts. Finally I found the groomer of my dreams. I've been using the same groomer now for over 30 years. She has been with me from puppyhood until it was time to let them cross the rainbow bridge. All these years and never has there been any cuts, botched haircuts etc., and she always asks what I want done. I always tell her that she can never retire because I would trust no one else with my babies.

| To everyone who has a grooming nightmare story- I feel your pain! I'm still in the process of getting used to Connor's "shaved poodle" look. If nothing else, I've learned not to trust anybody but their regular groomer (her hubby did the deed!) and to reiterate what I want done, even have the groomer repeat back what I said I wanted! I'm so gun shy now, I dread that time again! |

| If you decide that you wish to do the grooming yourself, you have a perfect oppertunity to learn as hair is growing out. After grooming poodles for many years,I decided that I would find a groomer for Mina. So far I have chickened out and am still doing the grooming, atleast yorkies seem to be easier at this point than any of the poodles have been. |

| I'm sorry this happened to you. Poor furbaby... After reading so many posts on here about botched grooming issues I found a picture on the internet that I wanted for Teddie's first groom. I gave that picture to the groomer and said THIS is what I want. No issues so far...thankfully...maybe printing out some pictures with what you want and having them on hand to give the groomers would fix the issue.

| You know we have 2 schnauzers and 2 yorkies. I had groomed my schnauzers for years before we got our yorkies. There is just not that much to grooming them. Go get you a book or sometimes even on the internet they show you how to groom certain breeds. Buy you a good professinal pair of clippers and a few other things you will need and go to it. I am scared to take mine, I have seen them be mean to the little dogs and its hard enough as it is to get them use to grooming let alone taking them to someone that doesn't treat them right. I would have been upset too. I know they say, its just hair but it takes awhile for that hair to grow back. Maybe he would like a mohawk??? |

| Some groomers get in a hurry and some are just not talented and shouldn't be in that business. I like the others have gone through many and in today's world I choose never to leave them while being groomed. I sit and wait and expect the time to be for my dog if I set an appointment (at least within reason). I feel your dog has their attention and that they will be less likely to be careless if you are there. I do most of my own now and I still don't have a good handle on it but like what I do better than what many groomers do. I do know of a good groomer and use them now and again. To me, it is a red flag when they can not tell you when your dog will be groomed and will not let you stay. I am so sorry for your little guy. When they cut them like that, the poor little baby is afraid every time you get out the scissors. Also, watch tomorrow and make sure he is not razor burned. She may not have a professional trimmer and it may be getting too hot or she may not be shaving correctly. Is she a licensed and certified groomer? I hope all comes together for you. I wish you luck in finding an excellent groomer. Mary
