Yorkie Talker | Snorting/reversed Sneezing/collapsed Traech... Hi everyone, I was getting a bit concerned about my little Vanna today, she is 7 yrs and as of this morning after she has been eating grass(so my Husband tells me) she has these attacks like trying to clear her throat, snorting like noises. But she has been eating and drinking and seems otherwise normal, I checked on line and heard, that it could be allergies. So since my other one had a Problem with allergies (itching) and my Vet told her to give her 2cc of Children's Benadryl. So I gave Vanna some too and some water and she seems better now and sleeps, I just would like to have some input and feedback as to other things I can do, it bothers me so for my Baby. I thank everyone ahead of time Sincerely Tina |

| It sounds like a reverse sneeze, at least that is what Sophie Kates sounds like and yes she does have CT (very mild). Had you vet checked her for a CT (you may have said yes in your post I cannot remember), if not I would get her checked. It might be something in the air in Georgia, Sophie Kate has been snorting like a little pig lately.

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk. Sounds like she just has a piece of grass stuck in her throat. That happens to my Beagle sometimes if she eats grass. She reverse sneezes randomly sometimes too as does Alice, but if it was right after eating grass and she's never done it before, I'd think the grass probably just tickled her throat - which I'm sure could cause a reverse sneeze too. She's probably sleeping now because Benadryl causes drowziness. If it was my dog, I wouldn't give Benadryl because of one time with something like that - it is a medication and I'd reserve it's use for if your sure it's allergies (at 7 years old if this hasn't happened before, I'd doubt it is). I wouldn't worry unless there seems to be an onging problem or if she has another symptom.
