| Warts, Pimples and such All my Yorkies I've ever had the joy of sharing my life with have had some sort of Warts, Pimples, or some other sort of growths.....I'm talking upwards of 10.....at first I think they are ticks....but upon inspection, it's a Wart, or something of that sort. Anybody else have these on their fur kids ???....we recently had a big one taken off of Codi's head....vet said it was just a growth, nothing to worry about. |

| My yorkie when he was 10 got a growth on his lip. My chihuahua who is about to turn 11 just got a mole thing (just like you described it) on her head. I think its because of old age, though.

| In the last year Dusty has gotten skin tags. The vet said it was nothing dangerous and if we have them removed they would come back. I hate the way they feel. Makes me feel like he is always dirty. He is 5 yrs old.

| So, these are normal ???....I see friends cringe when they hit one while petting my boys...and then say, "Better check him, he has ticks", and when I tell them "it's just a growth"...they really cringe, like "YUK!" |

| I just found one on Uni! It's small, like the size of a small people zit, but skin colored. It's on her left elbow. I found one on her head by her left ear a few months back and had it removed when she was spayed. I wonder if this one was there already they could have taken that one out too! They biopsied it and it was nothing. Hoping this one is nothing as well. But yes I have heard they are normal for the most part.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Could be a follicular cyst...some of them grow faster, some slower. They're not harmful, but they're easiest to remove when smaller. They are usually skin colored, and movable (movable in the area, that is).

YT Addict | Also, some cyst that move under the skin are caused by being overweight... cutting down on food and getting them to a normal weight can make these cyst slowly disappear. I've had a pomeranian with one, and it went away in a month after I cut down his food intake not sure of the proper name though!

| Frisco has a few Cysts, but they don't seem to bother him when you press on them or anything....hey, at 17 years old, I would expect some sort of growth. Codi, is 8 years old, and is starting to develop quite a few of them....and some are nasty to look at....we are thinking of maybe doing something about the bigger ones. He had one on the top of his head...20 minutes at the vet, and $350, it was gone....now multiply that at how many he has !!!....we'll slowly get them done...between the 2 of them we are already spending close to $300 a month on special diets and meds |
