| greetings from Michigan Hi all! I just found your site today when looking online for pictures of yorkie haircuts. My little girl, Gracie Rose, goes for her first haircut tomorrow (at least, first with me). The lady I got her from had her trimmed before I got her. The avatar is a pretty good look at Gracie's current "condition". Her hair got so long her ears are now flopped down. We are from the middle of Michigan, where the weather can go from suntan to frostbite in minutes. Gracie is my first yorkie, having had cocker spaniels for most of my adult life. My adult son lives with me and my husband (marries 37 byears and can't get the kids to leave!), and has a 6 year old daughter that I am helping to raise. He also has a Bocker (beagle & cocker) named Echo, who is Gracie's bestest friend, even though she is probably 5-6 times her weight. I was given Gracie as a gift in October, when my son's friend came into an inheritance and remembered me saying I always wanted one. He bought her for me, and her new name became "Derek's Gift of Amazing Grace." She was 4 1/2 months old at the time. I have never been given a more special gift in my life. This little girl arrived, even while hubby insisted "No more dogs! (we also have a 14 year old cocker, Daisy) I am not having 3 dogs!" I informed him he has none - one is Ryan's and the old one belongs to our oldest son who can't have her in his apartment. This one is MINE. He came home from work, spotted her with me and instantly fell in love. I have overheard him telling her, "I love you too." She loves everyone up, gives constant kisses, and is the Queen of the Wet Willies. She's even won over the other live-in son, who previously declared he didn't want some tiny yapper around. Now he offered to pay her vet bill, and looks for her the minute he comes in the room. I know my facebook friends probably get bored with my yorkie baby pics, so coming here will give me a place to share shots of her, and yammer on about the cute things she does. Like how she came to be called Ninja Gracie Rose. But that's another thread. |

YT Addict | Welcome I was born and raised in Detroit, however I am now a Texan. All of my family still resides in Michigan and I am there one a year. You are gonna love it here because yes, its all about the yorkie around here. I'm not here as often as I would like but when I need a lift, I can always come here and read stories like yours. My Baby Gizmo is a 4-1/2 yr old 10 pound bundle of joy. My whole world revolves around him. In my home the pecking order is Gizmo, the hubby, me, the chow chow - Pepper, the shepherd - Black, and the 2 horses, Viper and Thunder. There is nothing on earth like owning and caring for a yorkie, they are so smart and they get to know you from inside out which makes it easier for them to control you. As someone once posted here....Owning a Yorkie means ...never having to go to the bathroom alone ever again!
