I know mine is younger than yours, but a few weeks ago they started to flop all of a sudden... Had the tips shaved and they are back to perky again.

Sicne they have already flopped, you might want to shave the whole ear to see if that will help. He might look funny for a few weeks, but it will all grow back. Then as it grows back, still continue to shave the hair off that top third triangle of ear. Hope that helps. Don't think there are any ear exercises that can strengthen their ears but I have seen more than one post that they sort of massage their pups' ears to help them stay strong enough to stand erect. Not sure if that helps or not. Alot of it is genetics. A well-bred Yorkie normally has no problem with their ears staying erect. Some people have bred dogs with floppy ears, then it is in the line, and little you can do about it. I know erect ears are the standard and part of the traditional yokrie "look" but the good part is -- they look adorable either way! So just keep on loving them floppy ears or not.

| I believe that I've read here that sometimes when they are teething, their ears will flop, then they'll perk back up again, and that this can happen several times. Definitely keep the ears shaved to help it along Welcome to Yorkie Talk, by the way

I pet sit for yorkies w/perky ears, big ears, little ears, and floppy ears...Every single one of them are adorable! I wouldn't even worry about whether his ear goes up, or down...Just think what character he will have w/one up and one down!...Omg'sh, they take pictures of pups like that, all the time, because it's so darn cute...Don't worry about it, he'll be adorable w/one up, one down, two up or two down...He's a Yorkie!

Yuna has floppy ears. When I first got her at 9 weeks or so, her ears were down. A few months later, one ear went up. Fast forward when she's a 1 years old, both her ears are done. I don't think its an issue. It's quite cute . Only thing I'd be worried about is ear infection or something, but that's not the case.

Welcome to YT! Please post pictures of your little ones. We LOVE to look at pictures! I would definitely try shaving the ears. Also, teething can cause them to go up and down. My Betty Boop's ears were down from the time I got her at 14/16 weeks old. I shaved her ears and had to tape them several times in order to get them to stand erect. My vet and also my groomer told me to massage the ear when I'm holding her. I kept her ears shaved and tipped and they were up for good when she was around 1 year old. However, her right ear still flops when she gets tired or stressed, but it always comes back up and is up 95% of the time.

My 1st yorkie's ears had trouble staying up at first. I followed a breeder's advice and did the shaving, plus she told me to massage the ears a couple of times a day. It worked like a charm.
