Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Just got home from Pet Expo in Costa Mesa Wow! I must have walked a dozen miles today! There were a lot of shelters and rescue organizations there with all kinds of dogs up for adoption. If I didn't have my hands full with Tallulah, I could easily have come home with a pair of the cutest little chihuahuas to keep her company! There were no Yorkies for adoption that I could see. The L.A. Yorkie Club (part of YCTA) had a booth, but the dogs they were showing were their own pets. I know people wanting to adopt any dogs were being interviewed pretty carefully. Tons of stuff for sale. I got Tallulah a stroller, and a few small items. There were lots of beds and pads, leashes, collars, and bling. All of the major food companies were represented as well as lots of small local companies. Lots of free samples. Talked to loads of people, petted tons of dogs (washed hands in between - I was glad to see everybody asking people to help avoid spreading diseases), spent less than I had budgeted. Watched police dog demonstration, "diving dogs" show, and a parade of breeds where the speaker talked about the characteristics of each and told where you could find them on the grounds. I've never believed a dog could be ugly but I got to pet a Chinese Crested and changed my mind. Uck! Could not have had a better day! |

| That sounds so fun! We have a huge arena here that has all kinds of expos and concerts etc. but they never have a pet one Hopefully they will start, because I would love that and I'm sure it would draw a HUGE crowd.
