| We have Petplan and have been very happy with it. Generally, it is not worth it to cover the routine stuff because of the huge increase in premiums. |

| My two have Petplan Gold level...I didnt even know there were some that covered the routine stuff. i would agree the premiums would probably be much higher and youd be paying more in the lomg run!

| I have Petplan and I am very happy with it. Some of the plans that do cover annual visits do not cover hereditary/genetic issues such as LP, PetPlan does cover, which will cost you far more than what you would pay for your annual visits. Plus the will also cover alternative care such as chiropratic, acupuncture etc.

| That's what we have. The bronze level plan. So far, it's been free due to Lily's surgery (ie, they paid more to us than the cost of the insurance premium). I'm really hoping my baby makes it through 2011 without surgery though. |

| I have Buster on the Gold plan with a $100.00 deductible. Buster had some expensive health issues in the beginning so I felt more coverage was better in his case. The insurance paid for itself for almost 10 years in the first 6 months. Buster's plan runs around $400.00 per year. He had 1 leg operated on for LP after paying only 2 or 3 installments. The vet consult, orthopedic consult, xrays and surgery were over $4,500.00.

Did you know Buster had LP before you purchased the insurance? Or was he diagnosed after? Ruby has LP and may need the surgery, but I'm thinking since her vet already diagnosed her and if I get her on insurance now, it won't cover her LP. | |
