| Pet Warehouse closes, leaving fish to die!! Please join me in letting Pet Warehouse know how you feel!! Below I have copied my email posted to their website, and the link and content from a Craigslist posting. TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: Due to the below linked post and copied information (in case the post is deleted) I will no longer be patronizing your stores. Just to let you know, I have four dogs, two yorkies, a basset and a min pin mix. As you can imagine, the amount of money I spend in your stores for food, grooming supplies, toys, clothing and other neccesary supplies every year is significant. Now you might think..........who cares, one less customer, but obviously in these economic times your stores have been hit as well as every other industry. How do I know you may ask, well the store in question did close did it not? Additionally I will be insuring that I help spread the word on how you regard the very animals that you profess to care for with your business. As a matter of fact, as soon as this posts, I will also copy and paste this email into every dog forum I belong to. While it may not stop all of your business, it may make enough of an impact to make a statement. IF YOU PROFIT OFF THE BACKS OF ANIMALS< YOU SHOULD AT LEAST TREAT THEM WITH RESPECT!!!! Sincerely, Michelle Renfro FORMER CUSTOMER Free Rescued Pond Goldfish Free Rescued Pond Goldfish (Nixa) Date: 2011-04-06, 5:22PM CDT Reply to: comm-esvqr-2309644111@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?] I have four rescued pond Goldfish I am giving away. I took them from the pond in front of the old Pet Warehouse on Independence in Springfield by the Dollar Store and Walmart Super Center. The pond is almost completely dried up and many fish were left when Pet Warehouse closed. I tried calling all the local Pet Warehouses, the Pet Warehouse Corporate office, the leasing agent on the building and everyone told me the same thing, "Not our problem." I spoke to a Mr Keller at the Pet warehouse Corporate office that stated they had removed all animal life from the pond. To which I responded that I caught four myself just using a colander I had purchased form the Dollar Store next door. He then stated that they had tried to get everything out. I told him there were still many fish left some of which had already died. He said again that they made every effort and I was more than welcome to take them if I wanted. To which I stated "So, if I hadn't come along you would have left them there to die?" He again just said I could have them. Funny... A corporation built on people's love for their pets cant even take responsibility for a few fish they thoughtlessly and heartlessly abandoned. You'd think if they actually cared about animals they would be the first to say they would send someone over to get them. But no. They dont care. So, here I am with four fish to give away. I plan to go pack tomorrow with an actual net and hopefully a friend to get the rest. If you would like to help or if you want to just go out and get them yourself you are more than welcome to do so. It is a lil difficult as the water is very muddy so they are hard to see. If you do decide to go out and try to get some please let me know. If you are interested in giving these fish a home I would very much appreciate it. Thanks! ****Thank you so much to all those that have contacted me regarding these fish! I have been very lucky in finding them a great new home in a fish pond. And thank you to all those sending emails full of support and concern for these fish. Its great to know there are so many people out there who don't regard them as 'just fish.' Below are pictures of the conditions they were found in and a picture of the four I am giving away. If you look you can see some of the fish that have died. Location: Nixa it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests
