This is funny because this weekend, I was on craigslist looking for a desk for my Mom. I saw so many computer & tv armoires & I thought of you. Lots of people selling them because of the new slim tvs/computer monitors. I was meaning to post on yr thread, but you were already there with the idea.:p
Yes, it's black which I like too. :D She's said it's only a few months old and in great condition - no scratches or blemishes on it. So it sounds like I wouldn't need to do much to except maybe change out the door handles (I'm not too crazy about these) and adjust the shelves. And ooooh, baskets! I love that idea....already know several things I could use those for. ;)

I didn't think of Craigslist until after I started this thread. I was looking on there and someone had posted a gorgeous (but huge) armoire in the wrong section and that led me to the furniture section. Wow, you can find almost anything on CL these days! :p This is the first one I've seen that's been the right look, size and price for what I want though. :thumbup:

Well.....I couldn't resist. I called her back and confirmed that I wanted it. ;)

Today isn't good for either of us, so I'm probably going to pick it up after work tomorrow. That gives me time to go to Target tonight and get some of those cute little hangers like yours. :D

HaHa...I'm there with you & excited for you. Don't be disappointed though if they are not @Target this trip. I have seen them there through the years off & on. If I spot them, I will definitely let you know.

POOH!! :(

It didn't work out. We could never arrange a meeting time that suited us both, and in the meantime her husband found another use for it so they've decided to keep it. Guess it wasn't meant to be.

So, I'm still on the search for a little doggy armoire. :p

Hoping just the right one will come along! I've seen alot of these for sale, so don't give up.
btw: you've made me take a look @how disorganized I am & I've been sorting through Bella's clothes & found things I forgot I had......holding on to because of sentimental reasons, etc. Plus, I've been..... SHOPPING!! sssshhhhh! I don't need to.:eek:

Everything I've seen so far that I really like is more than I want to spend. So unless I find another great deal on CL, I guess my best option is to....clean out an existing closet. :eek::thumbdown Yuk. And organizing that new cabinet was gonna be a FUN project - now it's sounding like WORK. :p

I have a question...how do you all organize the hair product? Like shampoo/cond, brushes, ya da ya da...I've seen the thread and pic's of the way some keep their bows, but i have so much hair product, brushes and what not...I keep some stuff here and there but hubby asked if i could keep it all in one place and not all over the house...:rolleyes: MEN they just don't understand! I should tell him to lead by example starting with all the remotes laying around... :p

Have you tried a Goodwill store type of store? I know some of them have quite a bit of furniture. I am not sure what they are called but I call them them a buffet and lo-boy that I am using in my front entrance and upstairs landing. I got both pieces for $200.00. They were originally asking $300.00 for both pieces and the guy in their told me about the matching piece and he offered the discount before I even saw it. It's mahogany stained and has the original hardware on it. love antiquey pieces.

I've seen a few amoires available from time to time.

I wish I had room to have something for their stuff, but unfortunately my house configured wrong for it. :(

That's why I'm having to be so picky about what I get - I've only got one good place in the house to put something like this, and so I really need for it to look nice.

I haven't looked at Goodwill - there's a huge GW store across from my hair salon. I'll be going there next week so I can take a look! Thanks! :thumbup::)

I was also thinking about consignment stores. Unless it closed, there's one kinda on my way home so I think I'm going to look there this afternoon.

I got one from shopko that is similar to the target one posted earlier but it has two drawers on the bottom. I then put wicker baskets on top for Duke's clothes that don't hang.

I haven't heard of shopko before. I'll go look there. That's mostly what kept me from the Target one - I'd really like to have drawers so I can put the foldables in there too. Thanks! :)

Maybe its a regional thing? I believe they are based out of Green Bay, WI. Similar to a target, walmart, etc.
