| Catgut suture reaction? Gizmo had a reaction to the catgut sutures the vet used to sew up where his dew claws were. Anyone else have similar experience? |

| Yea the vet said its rare but whats werid is Gizmo had surgery on March 1st. ( Neutered & Dew claws removed because he had doubles on his back legs) So i took him to get the bandages changed on his feet every 3 days for 2 weeks. Last week i noticed what i guess was an internal suture sticking out where the incision was. The skin was trying to heal over it. I took him to the vet and they made an incision to cut out the suture. All of a sudden today i notice its all red and swollen where the vet cut him. I took him to the emergency vet tonight but they didnt want to touch someone else's surgery site. She said it didnt look infected and he didnt have a fever so she suggested i take him back to his vet. Sigh i know she didnt wanna step on anyones feet but I still wish she would of tried to do something. Emergency vet said that they may have to sedate him and cut him AGAIN to remove all the stiches! Ugh really? Hes been to the vet so much in his short little life i feel horrible!!! |
