| so excited! :D so all summer last year i tried to walk princess. we live on a very busy street, but it's nice because the sidewalk is quite a ways from the road. about 3/4 of a mile away is both a huge park & across the street is a huge walking area. ever since i got princess i thought this location would be great so we could go out and get some exercise. wellll...princess was so scared and skittish of everything last summer. cars, branches, squirrels, pedestrians, you name it. what little i tried to coax her to walk i would just end up carrying her. well 2011 is a new year!! we just walked a mile and a half round trip and princess did great! i'm sure people would laugh if they could hear me as i said "walk" and "good girl" at least 548,621 times! but she caught on and it was so wonderful! just wanted to share my proud moment and say "happy spring"!!

| That is a big accomplishment. Compare it to your first time out with her and you realize just how far you've come. Strolling through the neighborhood with a Yorkie is a fun time as everybody that is out has to stop and say hello or smile.

| That's so great to hear! You know, of course, that you've started something now. She'll be wanting to go all of the time.

| well it looks like we will be walking a lot this summer. i thought Princess' clothes were a little snug so i ran her to the vet for a quick weight and she has gained almost a pound since her spay (almost a month ago)! i don't know if it's related to the spay or a coincidence, but i was very surprised!
