I change vets one time. I went to the old vet requested a copy of Gucci's records. They ask me why and I told them that i decided to take Gucci to the Aspca animal hospital. They new I was unhappy cause they didnt call me to give me Gucci's skin test results. I called and they say they were negative. When I reviewed the record it saif that 2 days after i called the results where positive for ringworm, and noone contact me. Anyhow, is your rite to switch vets. If you dont want to get the records yourself, have the receptionist of your new vet contact the old vet for the records. Good luck.

One of the main reasons why I would take my pet/s to see a vet nearby was because he was 2 miles away from us! I've had enough with the high prices and all the mistakes on their records. I took them to a different vet and never looked back. I had a copy of their records that they would give me at each visit. The old vet kept on emailing reminders that my pet needed to get the rabies booster shot. Well I had my records and remembered that I just had taken them for the rabies shot like 3 months earlier! They emailed me 3 times telling me the rabies was past due! I emailed them telling them to CHECK THEIR RECORDS. I asked them if they wanted to hurt or kill my dog by giving them 2 Rabies shots in 3 months. They emailed me apoligizing and just said it was a computer error. Well I caught the error NOT them and they would have blindly given my dog another Rabies shot! I've never gone back and have no reason to explain why I dont take my pet there anymore! Just switch. Ask your current vet for a copy of the records. They dont even have to know why. Just because you want to have a copy. Then switch to a new vet. Good Luck! Genie

Switching vets is just like switching doctors. Explain if you want to; if not, don't. I've switched lots of doctors and explained twice. Once because my old doctor didn't accept my new insurance and once because I'd been to the doctor for 13 different things and the only thing she diagnosed correctly the first time was pregnancy. Later I met a med school classmate of hers who laughed out loud when I mentioned her name. He said she was hopeless and was surprised she'd been licensed. That made me glad I'd chewed her out good when I left her. My baby (human) quit breathing after the DPT and she told me not to worry about it. But the MD in the hospital told me to get DTs not DPTs since my son had had a bad reaction to the P part. I told that so-and-so of a lady doctor to experiment with her own kids -- among other things.
