I have two car seats. One for Kami one for Kelsey.
Here is Kelsey's:

I love it, Kelsey doesn't mind it.

It works perfect for us and Juicy loves it. I don't think it would be a good seat for a convertible though.

I have this one: Pet Gear Medium Booster Car Seat (Interior Measures 10" x 14" ) | Overstock.com and like it alot. Mine like it so much, they are always using it for a bed when it is in the house. I wish it was just a little deeper as I would feel safer if I had to hit the brakes hard. But I have not had any such problem with it. They seem to stay put nicely and enjoy getting to look out the window. Annie, especially LOVES to ride along.

I have a milk crate I turned into a car seat. It works great for normal hard top cars but I don't think I would recommend it for a convertible my mom has a convertible and she uses one just like this one with her top down (only bigger) however I would not feel comfortable doing so.
Oh by the way the green lead has nothing to do with the car seat we wear just about to get out

Did you make the insert and how did you attach the safety clip?
