| ![]() You're free! You're free! (Ann unlocked your other thread!) ![]() But, hey, since this one is gaining some momentum I'll post here! Before you drive 4-5 hours why don't you get on the phone and ask some of those questions? And then pay attention if you hear any red flags! I always joke with my husband that if we are going to look at puppies we might as well stop at the ATM on the way. It's really hard to turn away from all those cute puppies! I think this thread has some really great tips: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ead-first.html Good luck and make sure you post photos when you do find your new baby!!

| ![]() Welcome OP! You sound very nice. ![]() Please, please be VERY careful when selecting a breeder in the PA area. I too am from NYS and when I was searching for my pup I did not run across one good breeder in my own personal search that was from PA. ![]() There are A LOT of mills in the PA area, so you have to be very careful with screening. Please read up on "red flags" and questions you should be asking. Do NOT be lured by cute puppy faces or seemingly charitable people. Buy your breeder first. Even the "super nice" and "simple" Amish can be puppy mill crooks. I met this one really nice Amish family, but it turns out they were a mill. They posed as a rescue of sorts and said that all their dogs lived on their farm and yadda yadda, but after some digging I found out they were taking me for a ride. I, of course, jumped ship. I ended up purchasing from a breeder halfway across the country. My mum flew out to pick up my baby and bring her back in cabin, but I feel it was well worth it. There may very well be a good breeder closer, but I became really wary and very discouraged after running into mill after mill around our area. After all that, I decided to look beyond driving distance. Good luck in your search, but just remember to be very alert! Keep us updated and post about any breeder you may find if you want more opinions! ![]() |

| ![]() Hello and welcome to YT! I figured your locked thread must have been done by mistake. I want to wish you the best in your search for a yorkie, and I hope these breeders you are going to see will be good people and have the yorkie of your dreams!
