| long coat I am letting My jewels hair grow out and wonder if there is anything those of you who have grown the long coat out do to keep the coat looking good. What do you use inbetween baths to keep the coat manageable. And when you have them trim the bootie is that a hygene cut?

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Good luck - I use CC Systems Ice on Ice (not everyday) and Plush Puppy Reviva Coat in between baths ....I try not to brush them out everyday... but I usually do..... I have 2 tomboys who love to play outside...If they get dirty..they get a bath right away... and I don't brush them when they are dirty so as not to break their hair...The CC Shampoo is so gentle...I don't notice any hair dryness either. I use electric trimmers for a sanitary cut - I lightly shave their tummy/hoo hoo area, and their little butts... and sizzor cut the hair on the back of their legs to keep it out of the line of fire. |

| I brush Princess everyday. She goes to her Groomer for the hygene cut, and just a trim every three weeks. I have to give her a bath at least once a week. In the summer she gets the Summer Puppy Cut because it's so hot here. Ice on Ice works great.

| Mine have long hair, Lacey's will touch the ground. They are pretty active but I just brush daily and use Ice on Ice when needed. I also love the CC conditioner, which I use weekly after their bath. I go the beauty shop monthly, so when I go, they go as well, to their own place, of course. |

| red98vett---Villette, We live on a horse ranch so my babies have to be Tomboy's. Kip gets into everything! I usually keep her in a puppy cut just for this reason, but I've decided to let her hair grow out too, like Chachi. Where can I buy the products you listed here? Do most pet stores carry them, like PetSmart? Also, I usually electric or scissor trim the area just below her eyes to keep the short hairs from clouding her eyesight. I'd like to let that grow out too. How can I keep it 'tamed' down so she can see? By the way you have lovely babies. love your pics. How do you manage the hair on Tomboy's! so pretty though. |

| I think this thread got lost pages ago. I'd say I started Kip's ears at three months just a bit to get her used to standing for it. Maybe a groomer would help. I scissor trimmed her 'behind' early because she seemed to get impacted if I didn't keep her clean. How old is your dog, Sugar's Mom? I'd still like to know where to buy the products listed above to groom between baths for tangles etc. Anybody out there? |

| Lexi's coat is starting to get long also. In between baths I use Biolage smoothing shine milk. It is for humans and is sold in all salons...

| Caleb's hair is starting to get long too, and he is starting to keep in the topknots I put in his hair (finally!) He looks so much better with his hair out of his face. I also use the Chris systems day to day shampoo and conditioner. Also the Ice on Ice in between baths. Villette, how long does it take for their hair to fully grow out like that? Caleb is 9 months old now.
