It IS a great idea....We did it months ago but we can do it again - ALL the shows have contact info opn their websites - Oprah is compassionate and I think 60 minutes is a good one - Also ...contact your LOCAL media - All someone has to do is take ONE letter and mass mail it to the various stations - it really doesn't take that long and there are many dog lovers in the media - we sure aren't the only ones outraged...but sometimes the media just needs that ONE letter to get their attention.... Thank you to EVERYONE who is helping... this is really good feedback for this problem.....WE all really CAN make a difference.... :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup: |

Since last monday , TVA station of Montreal have started announcements against petstores and puppymills . |
this thread is ONE YEAR OLD - but worth another run with the holidays coming and all the Pet STore talking on the site - not intended to offend ANYONE who bought from a pet store - just offering a history of where they may get their puppies |
This thread is very important and should stay there . They are too many byb , petstores and puppymills in this world . |

I did want to say I'm only bumping this because of the holidays and all the people out there who MAY think of getting a puppy at the pet store - just educate yourself before you buy that little soul - that little adorable cute puppy probably came from a place that is far from CUTE and adorable....:( :( and anyone reading this who may be outraged - you CAN make a difference if you try - |

I can also totally understand the desire of many to rescue that little face behind the bars of the cage in the pet store....to give that 'one' little pup a home with lots of love and kindness. The only problem is, once that pup is purchased, another one has to be bred to take it's place. The cycle relies 100% on our desire to help that 'one' little pup. If we all stopped doing business at these stores...stopped buying these pups, then mills would have few places to sell to. I agree that there should be a law that forbids stores from selling puppies/dogs/cats, etc., but I don't know if that's going to happen any time soon. Sometimes it comes down to the public just saying 'NO WAY ARE WE GOING TO BUY PUPPIES FROM PETSTORES ANYMORE!!!' Villette, thank you so much for spreading the word. |
