And not too many miles from me residents have been told to watch out for a bobcat with an injured leg that has already attacked a woman and her puppy and is suspected of attacking two horses and another dog over the weekend.

That is very scary. I think I can handle a hawk and all them annoying things around me but.....bears and bobcats...I think I would faint.

The worst we have are coyotes and they are more in the country. We get raccoons and possums here

I feel like NYC here....the melting pot...I think besides big foot and the chupacabra.. we probably have anything you need to see on our ranch~~~OK maybe not elephants, tigers, lions but I sure would not be surprised out here.

About that there hoop snake... my maw also told me a black snake could hypnotize you .. did it to a little girls to get her food...

or the black panthers in them hills....

I love my culture ... but I can see how it could appear to others.

We had bears in our neighborhood last summer. The DNR set up bear traps in the woods in the middle of our subdivision. Foxes, bobcats, possums and raccoons sightings are nearly nightly occurrences. Evidently we have coyotes around here, too. Eagles, Turkey Vultures and Hawks- yep we got them. Snakes scare the bejeebers out of me. I had one in my garage last year; I screamed so loud my neighbor stuck his head out his back door to see what was wrong.

Ain't nature grand!

I have peepads down day/night in the house because Elsa is so dark, I am so half blind

, that I WILL not take her out after dark. I could careless where she went in the house....but not outside!

lol... I really had a hard time when I first moved to Florida!! My dh still makes fun of me.. I say I only slip now when I am really tired.. or drinking
