Over the last couple days I became aware of some things. 1. Some games by some "cheesed off people" with their own agendas to stir pots incite drama and generally creae senarios which are silly, serious and furthermore a waste of time to everyone involved. These people apparently creae new accounts on here and post responses to threads and threads for the aforementioned reasons. 2. Other people seem to come here post threads of responses asking for help then not only not listening to the help they asked for (any form of it) but continually give excuses, dismiss sound advice, but rant on about their "plight" 3. The sheer number of situations (many seem to involve pregnancy, breeding, & whelping) where people use YT in substitution of veterinary care is beginning to get on my nerves also...I believe many many people here give great advice and themselves are more knowledgeable about the Yorkie breed than many vets-but there is no substitution for veterinary care. I'm at the point where I see, newbie especially, posts or threads of similar natures: I think is this a real person with a real concern or issue or is this another attempt of someone to do either 1, 2, 3 a combination of them or all of them...no wonder some people here respond with short patience...at least they still respond and share in hopes to educate...with rude undertones or not. I just wanted to express my revelation here and perhaps it aids in understanding the responses from some. |

Two cents' worth: this is a newbie's perception of how the original post has been responded to. With the exception of the (rare) petty & unnecessary comment, YT members have handled this discussion in a way that reflects a group that is committed to a common (& great) goal & is driven by their great love for this wonderful breed. That is a wonderful thing. It encourages me to view this group as the loving experts and experts-in-training that they are. Kudos. |

Like I said, the nastiness usually occured in the breeder threads, and it wasn't the info-giver (breeder) that initiated it imo. But I still dont know who all the breeders are, so might be talking smack...if ya will:P I have gained a lot of respect for some members here because of this thread.(from both view-points). I have also learned who those are that don't really read the thread, & just post willy-nilly. But most importantly I have learned that if you are a YTA (Yorkshire Terrier Addict), this is the place you need to be. I'm trying to reiterate that this wasnt an anti-breeder thread even though some folks turned it into one...:) |
