This is the nature of online public forums...you get lots of opinions...some good some bad. It may be a bit shocking to someone new to the world of forums, but if you've been on them for a while you know what to expect.


Something that bothers me a lot is the untruthfulness. A member pretending to be someone else, or someone posting just to get a rise out of everyone. While no one should respond in a rude manner, I can see why it gets tempers flared.

It is what it is. By choosing to be a member you have to accept the good and the bad and know when to respond and when to ignore.

I said I similar thing on a thread just the other day when people asked why these newbies post & don't come back.

You can get the same information across politely & with tact...but some posters just don't seem to realize that or have the manners to do so effectively.

I have probably have been guilty of that too. God did not make us all the same, :):)

Really? IMO no pet owner should ever have an "accidental pregnancy". To me that means you are not taking the steps and precautions of being a responsible pet owner. Owning a dog is not just a privilege-it's a responsibility, its our job to do all the steps to make sure our pet is healthy. One of those steps is spay and neuter so the "accidental pregnancy" does not happen.

The truth of the matter is that it is NOT always the newbies ..... It is a shame though when it happens , but a lot of people here can be very persistent and rough in some threads. It would be nice if people could take a few deep breaths before responding in a mature, adult manner.

I feel like we should all just monitor our OWN words and not worry so much about everyone else's.

Online forums are not necessarily known to be warm and fuzzy places - especially when controversial topics are involved.

There is no better yorkie site than YT - flaws and all.

I know what you mean - I made the mistake of asking if anyone ever lets their yorkie run free - I had never had a small dog before and when I asked the question, people wrote inferring that I was a horrible pet owner etc. I was new, shocked and almost left. I did receive some personal messages apologizing, of course, no one apologized so everyone could see. I've developed a tougher skin and have noticed a trend that it seems to be the same few people who slam people quickly. Now I stay and weed out the good info and ignore any rude comments. YT has given me lots of info and I hope new comers, no matter how bad their questions are, can be given informative decisions for their dilemmas.

Passions often run high on passionate topics...just hope those with passions running high are spreading education...and just passion on high.

I will admit a few times I would think geezzzee what bug is up that persons's b**. And there are a few times I did not post what I really thought because I did want to have the negative comments come down on me.
I think what bothers me the most is when an op ask a question and a part of the question become a major debate with a lot of negative coming down on the op.
Sometimes the original question is even totally lost - for example an op asked why her pup's hair was sparse and the post turned to the fact she got a pup from a byb .. I can think of many more.

I also am a bit tired of the "debate" over small (say the 3 pounders) vs the over standard size. Why is it ok to brag you have a big dog (happy for you.. love the dog) but you are attacked if you have a small dog.. heaven help you if you say you want a small dog...aren't both out of standard ? Of course I am not talking about the tiny ting unhealthy dogs.. just a normal small yorkie.
Oh... heaven can't help you if you want to breed...or if you want a parti.

I also think sometime a member is "ganged" upon.. but it seams to workout somehow. I have seen when someone post a comment on a thread and everyone "agrees" .... but I wonder if they really read the post. One time I had some one post something negative that was misquoted and taken out of content... and there were a bunch of :thumbup::thumbup: I really don't think the following group really read the post.

Saying that, after being on for a year I realize seeing people make the same mistakes can drive you crazy!! I think some members come on a bit too strong because they have been there so many times.. and the sugar coating just doesn't work for them anymore. I think they don't mean to be rude or sound harsh. If you notice most of their post they are kind caring people.

I would rather have people who have passion and maybe step on a few toes than a bunch of sheep :D I have learned a lot about Yorkies and have changed my opinion about a lot (for example... I had thought of breeding my female... now I know I will not... maybe in the future when I know a lot and have a mentor I will breed.. but not now). And yes, I do get annoyed when someone ask me if Remy is a tcup.. (now she is a piggy -- 4.5 lbs-- so maybe they won't ask anymore lol)

All in all .... I love this site and I love the people
